No Rain

''There's not much rain around here, is there Spike.''

No answer. I'm not expecting one really, but I wish he could reply. If he can talk, he can recover.

''I mean, yeah, we're in the back of a pick-up, so I guess I should want it to be dry.''

Nothing again. C'mon Cloud…

''But, hey, I want rain for a good reason.''

His head just keeps flopping over. Poor guy can barely move with Mako poisoning. No wonder he can't talk.

''…okay. Maybe not a good reason really. It's actually a pretty dumb reason. All I can say is I like watchin' the puddles gather rain.'

It reminds me of her…

His thoughts immediately turned to the young woman in Midgar, and his mouth went on autopilot in the meantime. I just want to see her. Damn Shinra for taking me away from Midgar, away from where she is. I just want to say to her ''I'll always be there when you wake''. I will get back to her. I will be there for her.

Eventually, he finished rambling, and his thoughts turned to the young man in front of him in the back of the pick-up. But no matter what he thought of, he couldn't escape the feeling that one of them wouldn't ever finish the journey to Midgar.

If I have to go out, I hope I can go out in a fight. I hope that its raining when I do.

If I have to go out, I hope that I can at least protect Spike.

''Hey, Cloud, we're friends, right?''

Okay, I was going to make this a multi chapter story, but quite frankly I'm never going to finish it then, so I'm just leaving this as the full story. Thanks for reading!
