This little one shot has been on my laptop for a couple of years. It's just a little bit of rambling from Darien's POV about Serena and Rini but I thought it was kind of cute even if it was a few years old and I like to think my writing has improved since then :) So here you are, enjoy!

You Are My Sunshine

One Shot

To get a rainbow, you need to wait through the rain until the sun will shine again. I'm lucky that my through my life I haven't needed to wait through many storms. However, I'm blessed with a darling wife and gorgeous little girl who are my sunshine on a rainy day. My wife had been shining since the day she was born, a bubbly blonde who could brighten anybodies day just by smiling. I was one of those people whose day she had brightened. I was never really a very social person, only surrounding myself with what little friends I had because I didn't want anyone close to me. Until she came.

Serena had walked into the arcade that was her usual hangout, everyone's attention including mine suddenly spun over to her wavy blonde locks and the vibrant aura that seemed to follow her; however she was too naive to notice as she skipped over to her friends. I always taunted her, trying to find a reason to talk to her each day, only I guess you couldn't really call it talking... more like bickering. Her hair, her height, he eating habits, her bad test grades, her clumsiness, you name it... I teased her about it. Her hair was as smooth as the finest silk and as gold in colour as a king's most valuable treasure. Why I would tease her about her height is beyond me, but it just happens. She is tall enough with slim creamy legs. Her eating habits, no matter how extreme they were always intrigued me as to how a girl who was so slim could eat so much. I had only ever seen her get one bad test result but it didn't stop me and as for her clumsy nature, we all trip every once and a while. So if she was so perfect, why would I tease her? Because deep inside, she was the only one who I wanted to see each and every day. I looked forward to seeing her cute little scowl as I called her "Meatball head" and her thoughtful expression when she tried to come up with a come back.

She was stunning; it was hard to tell the difference between her and an angel. It's no surprise that our daughter took after her. I know that Serena was hoping that Rini would take after me in some respects like the dark sapphire blue eyes but alas it was not meant to be. Our darling baby came into the world looking as gorgeous as anything with a head of light strawberry blonde hair and light cerulean coloured eyes. Hopefully one day she would grow up to be a spitting image of my dear wife. That had been my wish. For my daughter to take after my stunning wife. Though she's almost a mirror image to Serena, she's her daddy's girl through and through.

And I wouldn't have it any other way. This family of mine is my world. They are my Sunshine on a rainy day.
