while the team was prosessing the crime scene, Tony who was sketching the scene heard a high piched yelp turned around but couldnt find the source of the noise.

"Dinozzo, get back to work!" Gibbs yelled from his place next to the body with Ducky on the other side examming the body.

"But Boss, i thought...never mind"

The noise sounded again but this time louder and more high piched

"SEE, told you, umm I think it came from up in that tree boss."

"well what are you doing here go up there and find out what it is" Gibbs said feeling tired.

Tony went under the tree and looked up not seeing anythng, looking back at his team mates he saw Ziva and Tim hidding smirks from behind there Boss who was glaringat him waiting for Tomy to move.

"Today Dinozzo!"

"umm right Boss"

hopping onto the first stable part of the tree he could find that would hold his weight, Tony looked up seeing what he could find but still nothing stod out. He climed upwards still looking out for anything strange or in need of help. Finally near the top Tony saw a ginger cat looking at him from one of the highest branches.

"great, Very special agent Dinozzo has to use his very special skills to save a cat. come here kitty...no fine il come to you, just stay there cat while I use my super skills to save you."

climming up to were the cat was turned out to be the easy part, looking down Tony just realised just how high he was and that this tree was a huge oak looking smaller when he was on the floor.

The cat sniffed Tony's hand and thinking him safe climed onto his shoulder where he sat looking qite happy.

"wow an animal that likes me, you dont have a coller so maybe i could keep you if you want, or you could just like me to save from this tree and then leave.. umm"

"Can you hear something?"

"I think tony's talikng to himself or to whatever's up there" ziva said trying to stop the giggles comming out.

"BACK to work, people" Gibbs said looking up the tree with a woried expersion on his face.

"Hey guys look who I found" tony said from below the tree he jumped from.

"a CAT, well done, the very usefull agent saved a cat from a tree, you should quit while you can tony." ziva and mcgee bust out laughing while Gibbs saw a flash of hurt cross his agents face."

"REAVER" A women came running out towards the cat. "thank you young man he belonged to..to..well the man on the floor they were best friend the cat and the man what a funny sight to see, he named him reaver after a game and they both always came round for food."

"um glad I could help mam, please look after him, most cat run if they feel somthing has happend to the owner" Tony said matter of fact lifting the from his sholder but his claws wont let go making Mcgee nd Ziva smile even more.

"oh no i couldnt take him back he's too naughty for me only the captin could keep him check. well he seems to like to you why dont you keep him i get the food and vets number." that said the women left without another word leaving no room for complaint.

"well Reaver do you want to come home with me"

"he wont answer Tony, they dont talk to stupid people" tim and Ziva burst out laughing unable to hold ot in.

"BACK TO YOU TWO. DINOZZO put the cat in the car and come back and get some work done."

"YES BOSS" thay all said

And thats how Tony got his first and only pet who liked him.
