God Gave Me You

AN: Hi again... I wanted to write this story, because I truly love the brotherly love between Phineas and Ferb, and it's Thanksgiving! In no way do I mean to offend ANYONE, but this is a Christian song, and I kind of guessed that Ferb's mom might be someone who'd want to go to an Anglican church. It's explained later in the story. This, btw, is my early Thanksgiving drabble.
I hope you enjoy it, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Disclaimer: I don't own PnF or the song God Gave Me You.
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say; it's true
God gave me you
It was pretty late at night, but he was still wide awake.
It wasn't that he wanted to be up, he just couldn't go to sleep. Luckily for him, it was Thanksgiving break, which meant he and Phineas could go to sleep whenever they wanted, if they were quiet enough.
Phineas...
It was tradition in the family to say at least one thing they were thankful for right before they dug into the meal, and Ferb had been thinking of what he was going to say.
Should he say his father again? No, no, he had said that way too many years to count.
How about his mum? [1] He was definitely thankful for her, but she, too, had been mentioned one too many times by him, and by the other members of the family.
Candace? Perhaps, he mused. It was a possibility, after all.
Or maybe even Perry. He was definitely thankful for his pet platypus, but it didn't seem to fit in with the things others mentioned, like food, family, a place to stay. Things like that.
The one thing that had been on his mind to say he was thankful for was Phineas.
There was no doubt in Ferb's mind that he was thankful for Phineas. After all, it had been his step-brother that had always been there for him. Phineas was the one who made him smiled, who put some adventure into his life. Phineas was his best friend, and his brother.
If there was one thing that Ferb was thankful for, it was Phineas.
Phineas was like a gift from God. Ferb hadn't always believed in this 'God,' because it just seemed like something his real mum had pushed his father into. She'd pushed them to going to church, but once she'd passed away and they'd moved to America, Ferb and his father hadn't been going to church, like his mother would've wanted.
But Ferb still knew about this God, and he knew that if God was real, He must've sent Phineas to be Ferb's best friend.
It seemed that through the ups and through the downs, Phineas was the one who was always there. He was like a rock, unmoving, unchanging. He was the one who stayed by his side, no matter what. He truly was Ferb's best friend.
Ferb glanced over at his brother, who was sleeping soundly in his bed, Perry right next to him, and smiled. Yeah, he was definitely thankful for Phineas.
So, glancing upwards, and speaking to some deity—any who would listen, he guessed—the British boy whispered, "Thank you."
AN: Again, I did not intend for anyone to be offended. I am a devout Christian, and I do believe in God, but it's never stated what religion, if they have any at all, Phineas and Ferb are. We know Isabella is Jewish, but that's it. Baljeet's probably Hindu... Yeah.
[1]: Mum... you know, English version of mom? Yes, thought I'd clear that up.
~HAPPY THANKSGIVING~
