I just had to write this because the last scene of Chuck vs the Seduction (when Bryce was shown at Sarah's apartment) was annoying me, it needed a resolution of a sort. It's more of a muse before episode three comes on in two days, so it's kind of random and fragmented. Don't get used to it: I'll be back to my depressing fics soon enough lol.
Does Bryce always come in at exactly the wrong times, or is it just me? Curse you Chuck writers!! Chuck & Sarah have had so many near misses :(
Disclaimer: blahblahblah NBC own this, but let's pretend it's mine for tonight eh?
"So much for deep cover ... he's back- again."
Against his better instincts, Chuck informed a disgruntled Casey of Bryce's return immediately the next morning. He didn't want to recreate his mistake last time, since Sarah had been so obviously irritated that Chuck had given her rendevous with Bryce away.
Dragging an extremely reluctant Chuck Bartowski along at those unearthly hours, Casey had staked himself firmly with direct visuals of Sarah's apartment block.
"Hey." Chuck said, not-so-subtly-gesturing outside after a half hour of nervous waiting. "Look. Incoming westbound."
Casey's head snapped up from his meticulous gun inspection, eyes narrowing until the object of curiosity came back into view from behind a car. Bryce didn't see them, as surly as he was, his shoulders stiff and gait more like a march.
His handler hit the steering wheel of the herder and let out a sort of low growling bark at the look on the other male agent's expression. Chuck just cocked his head curiously from his shotgun position, shaking his head in amusement.
"You'd think that someone who got laid last night by a hot woman would be a little lighter than thunderstorm..." Chuck commented offhandedly.
A new, but so very familiar voice cut in. "Unless that person didn't get 'laid by a hot woman'?"
Chuck jumped, "Sarah!"
She smiled at him, coyly, bending down so her head was level with the open window. She touched his shoulder gently. "Now, tell me, why would Bryce get laid? He was at my hotel room the entire night."
"Isn't that kind of self explanatory?" Casey asked roughly, caught off guard that she had managed to sneak up on them.
Sarah cut in again, practically singing-
"Or more precisely: sleeping at the doorstep of my hotel room the entire night."
Chuck tried to keep the hopeful fluttering in his stomach from overturning his breakfast. "Really?"
She bit her lip slightly, raising her eyebrows; he was reminded pleasantly of her expression when he had asked the same question a few days before.
"Mmhmm."
Casey interrupted, in a better mood than Chuck had seen him since Ilsa's appearance, "We've got a meeting with the prune in twenty."
Chuck turned back to Sarah, "Hop in?"
Sarah didn't even glance at her porshe. She opened the door to the back and slid in. "Don't worry about Bryce...he can walk."
It was Casey who answered: Chuck didn't know quite what to say.
"Who says we cared?"
Thanks for making it all the way here! So now you might as well post a review? Not much substance in this ficlet but tell me if it's at least possible this could happen :)
I just watched the first eight minutes of 'vs the Break up': the part where the awkward moment diffuses, the next morning, and the Bryce/Devon scene at the hospital...woo I'm on a high. Can't wait for monday, even though I'm not in the USA, I've got ways of seeing it teehee
Ooooh and I've read the summary of the whole third episode as well (damn my lack of self control), it's verrrry good, gonna be my fav. Bryce/Sarah finally get resolved...well, enough for my satisfaction.
If you want either the vid or summary link, just ask- hehe succumb to your desires, isn't it tempting??
