"Mother and Rosemary were the only ones who ever really hurt Cinderella. I knew from the start that it would come back to haunt us. But nobody ever listened. Eventually, when my mother told me that I was too soft on Cinderella and that I should be grateful that we had a maid, I ran away. And somehow, the Fairy Godmother found me. She asked me what I wanted more than anything. I said that I wanted to be where nobody would ever recognize me when Mother and Rosemary got us caught. She created a portal, and took me into the Otherworld-the world we live in now. I found a kind man and woman who took me in, without telling me that they also had a little girl of their own named Lily. They loved both of us equally, until Lily got a strange letter in the mail telling her that she had been accepted into a school of witchcraft. I had assumed that I was the only one in the Otherworld who knew of witches and magic. I immediately got jealous and said that Lily was a weirdo and that she was dumb to believe in magic. I ran away once more, this time from the kind family who took me in, and begged the Fairy Godmother to take me back in my prayers. And she did."
"I arrived in the Charming Kingdom, right outside my mother's home. Mother scolded me, until Rosemary said I was just in time. Then Mother completely forgot what I had done and started getting me ready for the ball, which was only hours away. When Cinderella danced with the prince, I was the only one who saw it was her. Everybody else thought I was crazy, until Cinderella married her Prince and the whole world knew about her background in our household. A young man named Connor decided that we all needed to start our new lives somewhere even farther from another kingdom. He took us back to the Otherworld. Mother and Rosemary opened up the Storybrook Grille, but I wasn't interested. I discussed that fact with Mother, and then it was decided: I was to go back and find the family I had stayed with all these years ago. They recognized me at once, and I stayed with them for about a year, until Lily got a boyfriend and moved out with him. I eventually found love, and we moved out too. All was well until I heard that Lily and James had been killed, and then I took in you. I'm sorry I treated you poorly all these years. I just felt like any example of magic would remind me of home, and now is the first time that I'm seeing that remembering my past isn't a bad thing."
"It's okay," he told me in response, and then continued. "I'm just learning that now too."
Now is the first time in my life that I am seeing that I do truly love my nephew, and I will never again be ashamed to be his Aunt Petunia.
