A/N: Based on Minimal Loss – there will be spoilers for that particular episode. What if Emily had been more concerned about Morgan at the end?

"Reid. Morgan," Emily called out, stopping in her tracks and turning around to face the burning building. She stood still, afraid that she may never see them again. Her heart was thumping in her chest, and tears were falling down her cheeks. She couldn't lose them. Him. Not now. "Oh god," she whispered.
Out of the shadows, two figures appeared, both moving slowly towards her. Both were coughing, so she knew without a doubt, they were alive. She walked briskly towards them, her eyes running over both of them to check for injuries. There were a few minor cuts and burns, but nothing major.
She hugged Reid tightly; glad to see he was ok. He pulled back and walked over towards Hotch. Emily turned to Morgan, but, before she could do anything, he had grabbed her arm and pulled her in for a kiss. Emily whimpered at the pain, and he pulled back confused. She motioned to her mouth, "a little sore."
He chuckled and pulled her into a hug. They held the embrace tightly, never wanting to let go. Needing to convince each other, they were ok. They were both here, and that's what matters.
Emily pulled back and looked Morgan in the eye. "I'm ok," she whispered wiping away his tears.
He knew she would tell him if she wasn't ok. She was like that. And that's what he loved about her. He gave her a quick hug and heard Rossi calling his name. He walked off towards the older agent, and Emily walked off towards Jessie's mum, to tell her the bad news.
Emily just held onto her, as she cried about the death of her daughter. Emily just let her cry onto her shoulder, feeling numb. Emily stroked her back, rubbing small circles with her hands, as she helped the women calm down.
Morgan watched her, and wandered how she could be so strong and so calm, after everything that had happened. How she could comfort someone else, after what she had been through.
She looked up and caught his eye. She smiled shyly at him, and then looked away. A small smile appeared on his face, and he realised what a truly wonderful person, he was with, and just how lucky, he was, to have someone like her in his life.
