I wish I could clone him and hand him out to the girls who cry themeselves to sleep at night. You'd be surprised how much happier life would be. Imagine a world where every teenage girl is in love with a loyal, kind and awesome guy. Can't you just imagine it?
Wait... Did I-? Oh my god. I just... I can't believe this. How could this have happened? No. No, I can't be... Could I? I'm not just talking to myself anymore. I'm rambling in incomplete sentences. Great, just great. Now, what am I going to do?
I know what all of you are thinking... "She's going to tell him and they're going to fall in love and the world will be perfect." But you have no idea how bad this is.
Okay, let me explain. Fang is my best friend, my confidant, my ball-to-the-wall right hand man. If there was one guy who should stay off limits, it's Fang.
Alright, so just to clarify, I'm Max, I'm sitting in a tree and I'm just now realizing that I have officially done somthing drastic. I've fallen in love... With the only guy on the planet that I really shouldn't have.
A snapping sound behind me, the smell of cinnamon in the air. Fang.
"What's wrong, Max?" He asks instictively. See, I told you, he's awesome.
I bite down on my bottom lip. "I have issues. Big ones. No, strike that, I have subscriptions. Lots of them." I mutter.
"And? What's new about that?" He says with a smirk. Granted, I can't actually see it, but I know that he is smirking.
"These ones are huge. Big." I said, sounding like a simpleton.
Fang sits next to me. "How big?" He asks.
"About as big as you are." I say sarcastically.
"Is it animal, vegitable or mineral?" He asked, playing along.
I smirk. "Sometimes, it's all three." I say.
"Huh? ... Oh... It's a person." He says and elbows me in the arm gently.
"Yup. And there are serious issues." I say and run a hand through my hair.
"What about 'em?" He asks.
"I think I've fallen in love with him." I say softly.
Fang stiffens beside me. Oh god, he knows.
"I think I know who it is. " He said softly, cautiously.
"You do?" I asked with a wince.
"I suspected it when you kissed him." He said softly.
I turned bright red. "Yeah, I guess it was kind of obvious." I said weakly.
He laughed miserably. "So... Do you want to go back?" He asked.
What? Did I miss something. Back? "Back where?" I asked.
His head shot back to me. "Back to Sam."
Oh my god, this was just geting worse.
"What do you think I should do? I mean if I'm in love?" I inquired.
Fang ran his hands along the tree bark nervously. "If you love him, the first thing you should do is tell him."
"How do you feel about that?" I asked.
He sat in silence for a minute. "It doesn't matter how I feel. If you love him, you should do what makes you happy."
"This is crazy." I say to myself.
Fang reached over and gently turned my face up to face him. "Love is crazy. If you fall in love, the world is beautiful, but the trick is for them to love you back. You won't know that if you don't ask." He paused for a second, his eyes gleaming. "I think anybody could fall in love with you. You just have to give them permission." WIth that he jumped out of the tree. I looked down and saw him sit next to Iggy by the fire. He stared deep into the fire, it's reflection gleaming in his eyes.
You know, maybe this isn't so crazy. "Hey, Fang?" I called down. His head shot up. It was now or never. "Want to go for a flight. I think I need to tell you something..."
