Her eyes glanced over at the shadow that was behind her. It's nothing, it's just your mind playing tricks on you. After the games all Katniss could think about was that she had to be on the edge, for anything. Again, she saw the shadow move. Before she could hesitate, she grabbed a spear knife that she had under the coffee table that she was sitting next to, clentching onto it and stood up. Her posture was still, like a solider. But the shadow wasn't there anymore. You're not sane anymore, Katniss. She let out a long breath, trying to control herself before she could sit down anymore. But she couldn't do it. It had been more than two days since she slept and as more and she tried to rest, she just couldn't keep her eyes closed before her nightmares came her reality. Her hand wanted to reach out to the phone, to dial Peeta, just to hear his voice. But she remembered that it would be selfish of her. After everything she's had put him through, he must hate her now. One step at a time Katniss, breathe. She followed her instructions and put her foot infront of her, leaving it there for a minute before she began walking into her kitchen. Empty. There was no one there. Obvioulsy there wasn't, her mother had gone off to live somewhere else. And Prim. Prim. That's the name that she couldn't get out of her head.

Focus, Katniss. But before she could even think, she half ran to the phone, dialing a number that she herself didn't know who she was going to dial. Three rings later, a voice came from the other side of the phone. But she couldn't respond. She stayied quiet, as if she was an Avox. Again, the voice answered. But she was half way into tears, she was afraid if she said something that her voice would crack and she would grow weak. One more time, the voice responded. And she took a deep breath, "Peeta, I…" She covered her mouth, unsure if she could even finish the sentence. Her vision got blurry and she knew that she was crying already. Her breath was uneven and she couldn't say anything else. She knew that Peeta tried to say something but she couldn't hear it. She shook her head and hung up the phone, embarressed and angry with herself that she had been this weak. Her legs couldn't hold her up anymore, she collapsed and cried until her eyes began to burn. She didn't even hear her door opening until there was strong, warm arms around her. Holding her and making her feel protected. She only knew one person to make her feel this way. Peeta.
