Here it is!

The two looked on as they watched their lives as they knew thembelowered into the ground.

The empty feeling in their body was not caused by lack of food, or love, they both knew that they had recieved more than they felt they deserved, but the emptiness of death, the one person they felt deserved all of the lovethat they had recieved wouldn't be able to know their love.

The tears shed that day were not from looking back on happy memories as they said they would. But they were from looking towards all of the moments that should have been shared together.

The bond said never to be broken was destroyed instantly. It couldn't be repaired, the damage wouldn't heal with any amount tears, or heartache, or emptiness.

They held hands as the preacher spoke about the deceased.

Deceased, whenever they heard that word they cringed. Who could talk about such a loving, warm person by using a word that described nothing but the cold hollow of death.

The grass lawn seemed to spin, its representation of a life passed, a space emptied, a part of a puzzle missing forever haunted the mourners.

As they stood there they wondered if this would be easier if they truly believed there was a heaven. It was to hard not knowing when they would be able to share a smile, or a laugh, or hold each others gaze again.

It was to early for one of them to die. Their "family", as untraditional as it was, was supposed to be invincible. They needed each other, they needed the love, the comfort, the safety.

As the casket was lowered that Sunday they said goodbye. But their goodbye only represented a body. The two would always have the memories shared andthey wouldgrieve over the memories never made.
