Darkness had enveloped the TARDIS interior, the time rotor column glowing weakly in the blackness. All around, the TARDIS lay in ruins, shattered columns littering the floor, power conduits and wires arching in the murky blackness, the once constant hum of the once great craft now jerky and badly out of tune.
A defeated sigh escaped the Doctors lips as he let his hear roll back and rest upon the console. His face of dirty and stream with blood. The once fine Victorian threads of the previous incarnation hung feebly from him, their once lush green velvet now torn and singed.
Opening his eyes, he looked around through the darkness, a weak smile upon his face.
"Looks like our time's finally come, eh?" he laughed weakly at his own horrible pun, he face sagging once more under the weight of his depression. He ran his hand over her once proud and gleaming console, "At least we made the most of it"
A short, sharp series of dull knocks echoed through the control room.
"Sssssh, girl. I know it hurts. It'll be over soon"
Silenced seeped back into the TARDIS before once more interrupted by the knocking, heavier and more forceful then before.
The Doctor looked up, confusion clearly hanging upon his brow as the knocking rang out once more, the unmistakable "thunk" of wood being struck.
Confusion painted upon his brow, the Doctor pulled himself up from upon the floor, his legs wobbling slightly as he makes his way over to the door. As his hands come to rest upon the simple handles, a low, high pitched whine begins to hum, muffled by the battered wooden doors.
Before him stands a man, slightly shorter then himself. A brown tween jacket hung around his thin face, a red bow tie wrapped ridiculously around his neck. His brow was furled with confusion as he inspected a sonic screwdriver, the source of the shrill hum.
The Doctor stood there, an awkward silence hanging between them as he awaited the tweeded man response. Finally he looked up from his buzzing screwdriver and noticed The Doctor before him. His brow relaxed as a wide smile spread across his face.
"Hello there, handsome. I'm The Doctor"
