Nightmares
Scorpius woke up sweating and still seeing the images in his head. He knew that this only happened once or twice a year but when it did happen he couldn't think about anything but the nightmare for that rest of the night and the next morning. He felt Rose stirring next to him. She had been woken up from Scorpius's nightmare and wouldn't go back to bed until she had made sure he was okay. She knew how hard the nightmares were for him but also knew his need to keep quite after seeing those images pass though his mind.
She turned on her side and looked up into his gray eyes and saw his eyes were full of heartache. She just looked at him and kissed him on the forehead. It was an unspoken rule between them that Scorpius would not want to talk about till the morning.
"If you need some help forgetting the nightmare I might have some ideas" She whispered as she rubbed his shoulders to release the tension that was built up there.
He responded with kissing her soundly on the lips.
She woke up slowly from her peaceful slumber. She was warm underneath the blankets but could feel that her husband was missing. Rose slowly sat up and looked around. She saw Scorpius standing by the fireplace looking into the flames and Rose knew he needed her.
She picked up her robe from the ground, slipping it over her shoulders as she walked towards him. He acknowledged her with a glance and a small smile. She already knew that the dream the night before had to do with his father's disappearance from the magical world. It had both shocked and scared him and he knew that it could happen to him or Rose at any time.
She reached for his hand and just held him and wished for all the bad things to go away. She would always be there for him but for how much longer? That was the question that haunted them both. But now they also had to worry about something else. The baby.
