Eyes of pure ice, hair the color of a raven, and snow white skin were illuminated by the dim candle lights. Darkness was so comforting; it was like a warm blanket that protected you from the beasts that were truly hidden within it. Candles that sat upon a chandelier and stands gave the smell of melted wax; they barley gave enough light to show a body only few feet away. The rug that was once a beautiful wine red with surrounding tile was now a velvet green material. Black leather sat upon the sofa which has stayed there for the longest time. Pale thin fingers tapped the crystal glass that sat on the wooden table. Sweat come off of the glass of red wine, causing a puddle to form at the bottom. A lone figure sat upon the sofa, awaiting the next challenge. His fingers began to tap faster as he was growing even more impatient. Perhaps I will have the chance at a real battle, hmm or shall I resort to trickery? He thought, very pleased with the idea of foul play and trickery. A muffled chuckle came out, oh yes, he would have fun.

Ruby walked into the doorway with caution, the only light came from the opening behind her. Everything forward was complete darkness. The smell of wax was the only smell in the entire room, and the flickering flame that sat above the wax. Her combat boots softly hit the floor with each step that led her into the darkness. Ruby was a traveler, hoping to beat every gym leader in each region, not to mention the elite four as well. She had done well; she had started off in the Kalos region and is now finishing in the Unova. She specialized in dark type, but preferred to keep a small range of different Pokémon types. When arriving to the elite four of Unova, she decided to beat the other of the elite four and leave the dark master last. So many questions about the dark type she had, she wanted to wait last so she would have time to have a conversation with him. The other dark specialists didn't have the time for her, but this time a dark specialist had the time! Grimsley, the most feared dark Pokémon trainer…Darkness completely surrounded her, except for the very dim flickering candle light ahead.

Grimsley lounged in his chair waiting in displeasure. What is taking that girl so long? He thought to himself in annoyance. Ruby... The same girl he had heard so much about, how she defeated so many gym leaders and how she managed to challenge and beat so many members of the surrounding regions elite four. It was a chilling winter, most trainers would visit Unova for the winter festival in Icirrus City; but she went ahead to challenge the elite four. He had only seen a few victory pictures of her. In them he could see how beautiful she was, amber eyes, medium wavy copper hair, beige skin, medium tall height, and a lovely figure. The very thought of meeting her made him even more restless. Grimsley sighed and looked down the long hallway, not even a tap of feet or even a flicker of light. He was horribly impatient; he was desperate to meet her. For the past two years they had been exchanging letters, and news about surrounding areas. Of course she was nineteen and he was twenty-two, he didn't care…she was old enough for the dark plans that formed within his mind.
