He walked into her life suddenly, like a sudden gust of air on a cloudless, windless plain.
"Take care of me." He said.
And so she did.
He ran off at the drop of a coin, always doing things his own way.
"Let me go." He said.
And so she did.
He came to her in the night, to easy her burdens onto his own skinny shoulders; strong, slender shoulders as they were.
"Lean on me." He said.
And so she did.
He took risks that he shouldn't, disobeying time and time again; leaving her to trail behind in pursuit of one who was always the chaser and the chased..
"Follow me." He said.
And so she did.
He ordered her around sometimes, as if he were someone that she should listen to.
"Trust me." He said.
And so she did.
He left as suddenly as he had come, a rasping wind that had blown through her life, tearing everything to pieces before departing, destruction in its wake.
"Forget me." He whispered.
But she could not grant him this.
