I do not own anything at all, nothing, zip, zilz, nada.
To be able to join The European Union would be easy, almost to easy. Why should we stay outside of it when everyone else around us join in and is happy and prosper? Why stay out in the cold when the fire is so close, company and warmth? Because we know, we know if we join we won't be ourself, we will be "The European Union", we won't be The Kingdom anymore, we will have warmth, sure, we will also have companionship.
We already have that.
We might not be members, but we are friendly with them. We are trading, talking, sharing. Still we manage to stay true to ourself. We don't need the help they offer, we can stand alone.
And yet, we will never be alone, our brothers is close, so very close and willing to help if the need is there, just as we will help them when they are in need. Do we really need this Union in the first place? Is it not just another way to make an empire? Maybe some people need it, maybe they need a reason to stop being hatefull to each other? Because they can't do it alone?
Why shouldn't we join? To help them, show them that we also care? Maybe we are just greedy, pretending that we help but still staying out of it and let them deal with the worst of their own problems?
