What Lies In Wait …
Sam glared out the windshield. He was caught off guard by the glimmering reflection of the moon in the sparkling pane of glass before him….
He pulled off the road for a moment and opened the door to the car. He unfolded his lanky form and stood there silently in the door way. There was a halo around the moon tonight….In the deeply dark, starless sky, Sam could feel that something big was building in the frigid night…
All of a sudden, a gust of spine-tinglingly chill air rushed toward him…
It tore at his coat…
It whipped his hair into his eyes…
He had the incredibly disturbing sensation of eyes watching him in the night…he spun but couldn't see anything…a shiver ratcheted down his spine and he knew with absolute surety it had nothing to do with the temperature…
He could feel it…feel the preternatural evil lurking in the darkness…it was hungry…hungry for him…
He swiftly folded
himself back into the car. He slammed the pedal to the floor,
surging powerfully down the blacktop as he tried to out run the
night…..
