Once Seigaku

AN: This is the second in my Seigaku's Insanity drabble series. I've got another couple planned, but I don't know when I'll type them up.

Disclaimer: I do not own the Prince of Tennis. (Seigaku would pelt me with tennis balls if I tried to own them.)

Fuji Yuuta left Seigaku because he couldn't stand to be forever in his brother's shadow. This is common enough knowledge in the tennis circuit, but as with everything in Seigaku, the surface reason is just that: A cover that hides what's underneath.

Yuuta remembers all too well the day he found out Seigaku's hidden truth. It wasn't big, it wasn't flashy, hell, if it had been anyone else it would have gone unnoticed.

It was so small, but this was his Aniki, his idol and the person Yuuta has spent his whole life watching, until he knows Syuusuke better than he knows himself.

Syuusuke's eyes were open, which should have been his first clue, but his aniki has never hurt him, so Yuuta asks him to play a game. Syuusuke immediately shuts his eyes again and agrees.

It's his worst loss ever. Fifteen minutes after the brothers stepped out onto the court Yuuta is on his knees, the score mocking him at 7 games to 5. His aniki leaves the court without saying a word, but the cold gleam in his ice blue eyes is enough.

Fuji Yuuta transfers the next day.

Yuuta isn't sure if he regrets that day. On one hand, it led him to St. Rudolph and friends that see him for Yuuta, not Fuji. On that same hand, he has discovered the secret of Seigaku, and it's one that makes Yuuta think wistfully of the days when Syuusuke was just his beloved brother. But one the other hand... Now, a year and miles away from that place, Yuuta knows what Aniki was trying to do.

The younger Fuji ran from it, rejected it with all his might, but there are days...

There are days when Fuji Yuuta looks down at his defeated opponent after a game and that same gleam passes through his eyes, turning them to gray ice.

Everyone is careful around him for the next few days, even Mizuki-senpai, and Yuuta never understands why.

He doesn't know that even though he ran from Seigaku, he still carries a spark of it's insanity within.

After all, once Seigaku, always Seigaku.

Ok... What'd ya think? I'm currently working on the third drabble of this series, but who knows when it'll get done. Review please!

Edit 8/12/2011: Slight cosmetic changes that needed to be done.
