New War prologue

"Aro, you incompetent fool! You will be the down fall of all vampires everywhere!"

"Anette, calm down. Leif contain your mate. She is out of line."

"She is not out of line, Aro. I apologize brother, but I side with her."

In the Volturi throne room, Aro stared down at his to highest ranking guards, in disbelief. They had turned on him, yet pretended as if he did not know of what they have done.

"How can I be the downfall of our race when I had set down the rules that protect our kind? It is not at all like I took in human children, to raise them, and have them know our secret, which they are bound expose." Aro looked down victoriously, knowing full well that he got them where he wanted.

Anette stepped forward. She was the smallest of the group, as most of the guard had at least a head, if not more on her. Her long chestnut hair rolled down in neat ringlets, and she wore the traditional Volturi guard uniform. Her mate had two full heads on her, and his midnight black fell to his back. He also wore the traditional uniform, and stepped forward as well.

"Aro," Anette started, "When the children turn to the proper age, we will be turning them in vampires so that the secret will be kept safe. They will have no chance to spill the secret. It will turn into the mate situation that all the others have, only that will be human for longer. Accept this, or we will leave."

Aro began to giggle, and then erupted in to laughter. As if he was going to accept this. The Romanians were going to attack, yet he was absolutely fine with letting the fools go. Anette looked on with disgust, while Leif calmly stared on, as he had a feeling this was going to happen.

"Leave. Raise the human children," Aro had calmed down enough to be serious-ish. "But remember this, I will not help you get out of hole you two dug for yourselves. And if you do not leave with the next five minutes, the guard will attack."

As the two mates ran out of the castle, one holding a boy, the other holding a girl, something changed within them. That day, they silently vowed vengeance on the Volturi and all of its allies. They vowed to begin a new war. They fled of the Norwegian Mountains to begin they long planning. They named their coven Arendal.
