This is a song I wrote set to the melody of "Into the West" by Annie Lennox, a beautiful, beautiful song (which I don't own). It's pretty vague so it really could apply to anything, but I did make it as a sort of farewell-thing in honour of the last book of the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan (don't own that either), so it is based on his characters and storyline.

Come now

Sit down beside my hearth

Learn of legends

All the stories of your time

Hark now

Just hear the stories of the ones

All, but gone now

Unless the memory remains

Child you see

there was darkness in those days

darkness that kills

darkness that takes good friends away

All that was left

Was their hope for tomorrow

[Chorus]

Raise your glass

To all the heroes

The ones who gave their all

In all their hearts

Was something golden

something that drove them to go far

Should they have turned

strayed from their path

All would have fallen

to dark days

Come now

please listen, this one time

The prices they paid

cannot be forgot

They fought, gave all that they had to give

through love and hatred

they preserved and became friends

Staying true to their hearts

Just listen

[Chorus]

Should they have turned

strayed from their path

All would have fallen

to dark days

Days won't know

I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to let me know (any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated). By the way, I love writing songs and poetry, so if anyone wants me to make a song/poem (or even a story) based on anything relating to the Percy Jackson series (or anything else, I've watched/read a lot of things) please let me know and I will make it (as long as it's reasonable). Just PM me or put your idea in a review. :)
