All first dates are supposed to be hard. All of the movies and books pointed it out like it was some big starship crashing into a planet. Personally, Chip couldn't figure out why. Okay, he could. Since he has seen Xander go on enough first dates to know how that goes…or maybe it is Xander. So, he kind knew how it ended.
It was funny on how much of a big deal that Xander made about Vee and his first date. He talked about flowers and making sure that a girl picked the place.
Well…Vida doesn't like flowers. She might give him a funny look if he tried that one. Picking the place was easy….since there wasn't many places to choose from here. Vee was avoiding clubs and so was he. He could understand why since the whole vampire thing. No good movies…not even action adventures one or kid movies and that was even more disappointing.
One thing they did share is their hatred for romance comedies. Blah.
So, he and Vee decided on the mini golf slash arcade place.
Vee and his first date shouldn't be hard. They have been friends for years. They have done plenty of things by themselves.
He should have known that he would jinx it in some way.
"Hey, Baby." The man behind the counter said.
Vida gave the guy a look that could burn anyone to dust. Chip knew that was a bad word…along with sweetie, tootsies, and VeeVee. He reached out and touched her shoulder. He knew that this could end badly…for the guy behind the counter. Funny thing is they never had trouble here before. Maybe, because the guy was new. It has to be.
His girl could handle herself fine.
"Vee…don't…" He said softly.
Vida shoot him a look then turned to the guy at the counter.
"You are damn lucky that I am on a date or I would break you." She said coolly.
"Whatever tootsie…" The guy said with the wave of his hand.
Quickly, he started to pull her away from the guy.
This will end badly. He could sense it.
"Chip…please…can I punch him?" She begged.
"No," He said.
"Aren't you guys forgetting something?" The guy shouted as they turned away.
"What?" She snapped.
"Your tickets," The rude guy said.
He could see the vein popping out from Vee's forehead. It was time to leave.
"I think that we are leaving," He said as he pulled her toward the door.
"Come on, you guys. I was joking…" The guy said.
"But we aren't," Vee said with a smile. She grabbed his hand and dragged him out the door. Once they were out the door, she huffed.
"Jerk," She said.
"I agree. But this kind of sucks…our first date was kind of ruined by that guy," He said with a sigh.
"Maybe, I can turn him into a frog."
"Undonna wouldn't be happy, Vee. Daggeron is a little twitchy with the whole frog thing."
"True...hmmm…" Vida said.
Uh oh…she had that thinking look on her face.
"What is it?"
"I have a plan."
"What are you going to do?"
"Wait here…. After I am finished, we go and get some ice cream."
"Vee!"
Next time…they will do their next date at his house.

"So…Chip made gum stick his shoes and he couldn't get it off. Vida made all of the golf balls stick together like magnets," Xander said.
"It was funny watching him chase the golf balls and trying to get the gum from under his shoes at the same time," He said with a grin.
"At least, you didn't punch someone," Xander added.
"We are power rangers. We have a code or something. I couldn't punch him. We just made his life a little difficult," Vida said with a grin.
"So, your first date was a bust, huh?" Nick said.
"Nah…there was ice cream. That was an adventure in itself," Vida said with a grin.
He felt his face turn red.
"What happened…?" Xander asked as he looked at both of them.
"Well…" Vida said.
"VEE!"
