Alana sat sobbing underneath the large willow tree in the palace gardens. It was dusk and most were inside now. The cause for Alana's distress were probably sat together dining and drinking and sharing battle stories. Thor, Sif and The Warriors 3. Unlike most, Alana had a very close friendship with the prince. Not Thor but Loki, God of Mischief. Even after many years Thor and his friends disagreed with the bond the two had formed. Loki had promised to join the group later as he had something that was rather important. Alana had gone ahead and joined the friends in wining and dining. With Alana being alone, the group took advantage and began to berate her.

"Alana, you do realize that your bond with Loki is rather silly. He is a liar and a trouble maker" Sif had said.

"Sif, my friendship with Loki does not concern you. He may be both of those things among many but never has he lied or used his magic to cause me harm nor trouble. That I am grateful for and I have no qualm in his friendship!" Alana had defended her friend but to no avail as the next few sentences would upset the girl greatly.

"It seems that the poor maiden had fallen in love with the god of mischief and lies. Foolish of you, Loki is trouble, he is using you girl, Loki does not know how to love, you are wasting your time greatly" Volstagg added. Alana stood up sharply and glared the the group before running off. That is where Loki found her.

"Lana? What is wrong?" Loki had heard her sobbing and rushed to his weeping friend, immediately he sat and pulled her to his chest encircling her with his arms.

"They don't approve of this friendship Loki. They berate and torment me, they hurt me with their words" She whispered. Loki tensed underneath her. He shuffled her away from him and pulled out a small box.

"Let them talk. Let them mock our friendship." He told her. He handed her the box and delicately she opened it. With a gasp, fresh tears drowned her eyes as she gazed at the beautiful Loki themed bracelet that sat before her.

"Loki, it's beautiful" She murmured. He smiled softly.

"Lana, there's something I have been meaning to tell you. As you know, Thor is to take the throne soon. Father spoke to him about choosing a bride and he's set his sights on you." He stopped for a moment. He thought on how to continue and then taking a deep breath, his silky voice told her something that he should have told her a long time ago.

"I love you Alana, you are my best friend... my only friend."
