"A Bittersweet feeling of Love"
Lavi stared into his space, his green eye was vacant of any emotions, and he was unaware of his surroundings. Which was quite surprising of the red head, since he was always memorizing his surrounding; his green eye was always shown to be curious, full of life and alert. Now all he held in his emerald eye was death. In his hands, rested Mugen, he held on to the blade so tightly his hands were turning white. It was all he had left. It was all he had left of Kanda Yu. His grip tightened even more if possible, and he felt the anguish well up inside of him. Why had Yu left him? Why had he just slipped away so quietly, leaving Lavi all alone like this?
"Lavi, it's time."
Lenalee whispered to him, tears running down her own face at the loss of such an important friend. He stood, and moved sluggishly towards the box that now held his best friend, and his lover. He stopped beside it, and stared at it. A million thoughts running through his mind. All of them wondering how something like this could have happened, and right under his nose. He dropped to his knees, and stared up at the ceiling of the church like room they were in now. He heard a howling, and it took him a moment for him to realize that the howl filled with such pain and agony belonged to him. He felt something warm running down his cheek, it didn't take him long to realize it was his tears. His salty tears. As a Bookman in training, he wasn't supposed to be feeling these emotions. He wasn't supposed to be feeling this searing pain, this agony. He wasn't supposed to feel like his heart was breaking into thousands of shards. He wasn't supposed to be feeling this bittersweet feeling of love. Arm's wrapped around him, whispering words of comfort, but he could draw no comfort from them. Never could he ever feel whole again. Because the one person he had ever truly loved had left him behind.
Because Kanda Yu, was dead. What were the last words he had said to Yu before he had fallen asleep, only to wake the next morning to find his lover cold and gone off to a place where no one could touch him? Had he told Yu that he loved him? Had he told the man sweet dreams, before he himself had fallen asleep? He didn't know, he couldn't remember. What was the matter with him? He had been trained to remember every single little detail, so why couldn't he remember the last words he had said to his Yu? They tried to remove him from the box that held him. He fought them; they were trying to take him away from his Yu. There was no way he would let that happen! He struggled, shouted, cursed and kicked. But in the end, he was held down by Allen and the others, and they took Kanda Yu away, to a place where no trace of his body would ever return to the earth.
