The little Glass Girl stares out the window, waiting for her Prince(s) to come home.

She waits and she ponders and she worries and she longs, but most of all, she waits.

She finds things to occupy her time, like the little gears and cogs that litter the dusty corners of her tower. She thinks about happier times, when she and her Princes had been together and nothing could tear them apart (neverever).

The Glass Girl has company sometimes, and when they are around, she has her happy-busy-perfectly-okay face on. She finds herself wearing this face more and more often, and sooner or later, she can't tell if it's fake anymore.

One day, (after years and years and years) her Princes come back from the war and she is sososo happy. She hides her happiness, of course, and scolds them and asks them why they took so long. She hides her hurt, of course, when they brush her off (and pretend her worries weren't important).

She doesn't bother to hide the longing in her eyes, when they turn their backs to her and don't look back (again and again and again). She understands how important the war is, how essential, but maybe they could just take the time to respond to her letters? Maybe they could tell her the truth every once in a while?

They never do, but that's okay. She'll be there for them no matter what. She will be the home they can come back to at the end of a tiring day, she will be the foundation that supports their skyscraper. She will cry for them when they refuse to cry for themselves, she will do anything.

But at the end of the day, she is still a little Glass Girl and everyone knows how they break when neglected.

I was always kind of upset by the way the Elric Brothers treated Winry so this happened.

A little bit of a sadder portrayal of Winry. She's pretty optimistic most of the time, so I really don't know how accurate my depiction is.
