Angel Eyes
Dean was happily blasting Led Zeppelin in the Impala, but according to Sam's ears it was just a cacophony that needed to be turned down. Sam could barely hear himself think, yet his brother would smack his hand every time he reached to lower the volume.
Sam was surprised when Dean actually growled at him, "You know my rule. Driver picks the music and shotgun shuts his cakehole."
"Okay man, pick the music, but don't shatter my eardrums," Sam yelled over the music. Dean relented and lowered the volume of his own euphony. "Thank-you."
Dean mumbled something under his breath. Sam had to restrain himself from laughing at his older brother's slight pout. It was a discourse that they had had many times, each insisting that while the other did pout, they themselves did not. It was a never-ending argument.
Dean's pout deepened when his old cassette ran out and the Led Zeppelin track ended. The brown shape that darted in front of the car didn't help the matter either. Dean swerved sharply and muttered, "Damn deer." Anything that might injure his baby tended to incite Dean and put him in a foul mood. Sam wisely decided not to comment.
Dean sighed dramatically and then glanced toward his brother. "Grab one of the Van Halen tapes," he instructed. He was pouting again.
Sam nodded and opened the glove box with a slight smirk. He perused the titles of Dean's collection and selected the named tape. When it started he was surprised that the first song was not one of the loud, classic rock songs that were usually played in the Impala.
Chancing a look at his brother, he saw a slight smile playing at his brother's lips. Sam figured that it was possible that an old flame was brought to mind when the song played, but it was more likely that the smile was evoked by a more recent acquaintance of the two, a friend that sometimes traveled with them. That barely visible smile substantiated the truth, obvious to everyone but the two involved, that there was something going on between Dean and their friend.

AN: After talking to my teacher, I realized that he would be disappointed if I didn't include song lyrics in each oneshot. Consequently, I spent close to 45 minutes trying to find lyrics that fit what I wanted to write but would still be a song that would be played in the Impala. He had never heard the song before.
