Cat and Jade sat at their usual lunch table. Jade was picking at her burrito, and Cat was twirling a straw in her chocolate milk.
"Jade?"
Jade grunted.
"Jade?" Cat repeated, poking Jade's arm with her straw.
"Yeah Cat?" Jade looked at Cat and wiped the drops of chocolate from her sleeve.
"Do you think I'm weird?" Cat looked at Jade with wide eyes.
"What? No. Who told you that?" Jade clenched her fists tightly.
"No one. I just… do you think I am?" Cat stared at Jade.
"Do you think I'm weird?" Jade pointed at Cat.
"No!" Cat giggled. "You're Jade!"
"Good. Neither do I. You're Cat." Jade smiled briefly and then went back to picking at her burrito.
Cat's smile lasted a lot longer.
