This was quite possibly, the worst day of her entire life.

Honestly. Tonks had absolutely no idea why some people seemed to fecking worship this holiday.

Bah. Valentine's Day. Who needs it? Not me, that's for sure...

Huffing, she stood and walked toward the lake. Secretly, she had always looked forward to Valentine's Day. There was always a chance of finding that special someone and receiving chocolate. Unfortunately, that 'special someone' of hers, didn't seem in an hurry to sweep her off her feet.

Let's face it, Nymphadora. You're worthless, and nobody will ever want-OOMPH!

Tonks went sprawling to the ground, landing flat on her bum. Cheeks burning furiously, and quite sure her hair was now a flaming sort of red, she turned to go, muttering an apology under her breath. She had almost made a full turn when a strong hand landed on her wrist, pulling her back into a warm chest.

"Wait a moment," a smooth, masculine voice pleaded.

"A-all right," Nymphadora managed to squeak out, having no idea who was behind her.

He seemed to be debating something, but after a moment's deliberation, a beautiful heart shaped packaged was slipped into her hands. She turned around to face the mystery man, sure it had to be a dashing knight right out of her fantasies-

...only to find that she was looking into the face of Antonin Dolohov.

Eh. She supposed he would do.

"Now," he began, "Don't go thinking this is going to be a regular thing or anything- I'm sure as hell not going soft- but you looked like you needed a bit of cheering up and-"

He was abruptly cut off by the soft press of her lips to his. He stood there gaping, while she pulled back with a genuine smile.

"Thank you," she said softly.

"You're welcome, you bloody headcase." he muttered.

She glanced down at the box of chocolates in her hands and skipped away giddily, unaware that one very flustered Slytherin was watching her with a soft smile on his face.

"So. I got my chocolate." she voiced aloud.

"Who knows?" she murmured, chancing a glance behind her.

"That 'special someone' may be closer than I thought."

a/n- so thoughts? I know it's short, and that VD was a long time ago, but eh. Review? All mistakes are my own. I typed this FAST. And, no, I don't own Harry Potter.
