I stared out through the quiet forest,
I was alone in the silence,
All I heard was the rain fall around me,
Then I saw him,
He appeared out of nowhere.
His skin as white as snow,
Little droplets of rain sparkled on his skin,
His face as beautiful as an angels',
His face as hard as stone,
His eyes were as black as coal,
His hair light brown fluttering over his face of stone.
I called out to my Angel,
He did not respond,
He moved forward very slowly,
Placing each foot carefully on the wet grass.
He stretched out his hand,
His icy fingers caressed my wet cheek,
His face inches from mine,
His cool, sweet, breath on my face,
My head spun,
My heart raced.
His icy lips gently pressed on mine,
His cold hand that was not holding my face to his,
Was slowly siding down my back.
His stone body froze against mine,
I heard a furious snarl,
I stared up into his eyes,
They burned black in mine.
His perfect lips curled back over his brilliant white teeth,
I didn't just hear,
I felt the rumbling growl ripple through his body,
His face torn in pain,
I stumbled back,
I ran through the dark forest.
As I ran,
I tripped and stumbled,
A single tear fell down my rain covered face,
My heart ached in my chest,
I couldn't feel the pain,
I was numb.
I stopped running,
My knees gave under my weight,
I fell on my hands and knees,
My body was trembling,
I was covered in cold, wet mud.
I sat back on my numb knees,
I looked up to see my Angel,
He stood a few feet away,
He looked down on me,
His face was unrecognisable,
My Angel was dead.
What stood in his place was the blood thirsty monster,
That my Angel tried so hard to escape from,
And I knew,
I knew I was the cause of his death,
And the birth of this bloodsucking monster,
As I looked into its eyes,
I saw a vicious battle raging behind them.
I saw my Angel fighting,
To take control over what that monster had took,
As I watched the fight,
The monster lunged at me,
I was flying through the air.
I heard an ear splitting crack,
As my back collided with an oak,
The pain flowing through my body was like fire burning,
I felt my back break into a million splinters,
I smelt hot salt and iron,
I felt the fiery gush of blood spill down my broken back,
I fell to the ground,
My face in mud,
I was brutally turned onto my back,
I screamed in agony.
All I heard was the patter of rain,
All I heard was my gasping breath,
As pain clouded my mind,
Everything went black.
I heard a wild cry of pain,
I felt a cool hand on my cheek,
I opened my eyes,
I moved them onto my Angels face,
He had defeated the monster for now,
I could see he wasn't breathing.
As I looked in to his eyes,
They were filled with pain and sadness,
Blackness clouded my vision,
I felt the little strength within me fade away,
I knew I was near death.
I felt my self slipping away,
I thought dying would be different,
Then this,
This is going to sound really corny,
But I thought at least there would a long dark tunnel,
And maybe even a light at the end.
But no,
There was nothing,
Just blackness,
I looked around me,
There was nothing.
But I knew the ones I love would be safe,
And they would move on,
And be happy,
They would be happy,
Because they knew I was safe, happy and at pace.
I was home.
