Wilson peered steadily through the glass walls, only half-listening to House prattle on about some brilliant discovery involving the current patient. His attention was focused on Dr. Cameron and Dr. Chase, walking together down the hall, close to one another, talking in quiet voices, conspiratorial and flushed. They were on the edge of something new, something that they had yet to name. He felt a twinge of bitterness at that, but was afraid to analyze it too closely. They had found each other too easily. It wouldn't last. He'd looked for years and had nothing to show for it.
