A Witch's Questions

"Albus?" asked Minerva as she helped him sort through his mail.
"Yes Minerva?" He looked up from his work and saw a slightly amused look on her face as she held up a letter.
"There is a witch in London who sent you a list of questions for you to answer," she informed him.
"And why did she do that?" Albus asked.
"How do you expect me to know that?" she snapped.
"I suppose I shouldn't," he agreed, "Well, it might be fun. Ask me."
"What is your favorite color?"
"Green," he answered immediately.
"What is your favorite candy?"
"I particularly enjoy a Muggle candy I discovered, M&M's," he answered promptly.
Her brow furrowed, "I thought sherbet lemons were your favorite?"
"I am only fond of them; they are not my favorite."
"Alright, then…," she commented before returning to the list, "What is your favorite animal?"
"I have two…," he started hesitantly.
"Say both," Minerva suggested.
"A phoenix and a cat," he answered.
Minerva couldn't help but notice that one of his favorite animals was her Animagus form, "The next two involve me."
"They do?" questioned Albus, "I wonder why?"
"I have a few ideas," she sighed as she read the next question to him, "Why did you pick Minerva McGonagall to be your Deputy Headmistress?"
"You're intelligent and more than capable of handling the job," Albus smiled.
Minerva gave a small smile, "Thank you. Next question," she blushed.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Is there anything going on between you and McGonagall?"
Albus answered "Well, you know the answer to that."
"Right," Minerva nodded, "No."
"Next question?" he prompted.
She read, "Do you believe in love at first sight?"
He raised his eyebrows at the question, but answered, "Yes."
"Next question," Minerva continued, "If you answered yes, has this ever happened to you? My, my; these are personal questions. You know you don't have to answer if you don't want to."
"It's quite alright," he said, "I'll answer. Yes."
She faltered, "Y-yes?"
"Is there a problem?" he asked.
"No, none at all," she answered, turning back to the questions.
"Minerva; might I ask you a question?" he asked.
"I'm not the one asking these ridiculous questions," she defended, looking back up.
"I know, I know," Albus agreed, "But may I?"
"Of course," Minerva responded.
"What are your answers to the last two questions on the list?" he asked, meeting her eyes.
She stared at him silently for a moment, looking into his eyes. Then, she sighed, without breaking eye-contact, "Yes and yes." They just stared at each other, and Minerva said, "My eyes are green."
"They are," Albus agreed.
"My initials are MM," she continued.
"I believe so."
"My Animagus form is a tabby cat."
"Right again."
They stared at each other. Without looking at the paper (for the next question was not written there), Minerva said in a shaky voice, "Next question," she took a deep breath, "Do you love me?"
"Yes," Albus answered. Minerva could see the truth in his eyes.
"I love you too," she exhaled.
He smiled, "I was right. This was fun." She smiled too.
Stupid ending, I know. I'm not exactly happy with it, but hey…I wanted to do one that didn't end with them kissing…
