Unknown Mother

Sarah POV

I looked down at the plump baby in my arms. He snuggled down even more as he slept. My little Jacob. He was so big already, bigger than his sister's had been.

He yawned, and his big dark eyes fluttered open, and he looked up at me in surprise.

"Hello, little one." I murmured, bending my head to plant a kiss on his forehead.

The twins noticed my movement from where they had been watching the television on the floor. Rebecca was up first and she came to stand on one side of the armchair I was sitting in. Rachel was soon on the other side her three year old eyes full of curiosity, and Rebecca's matched.

Jacob looked up at both of his sister's and then he smiled at them. They smiled back and then he laughed. I had been ecstatic when I had heard him laugh for the first time, a few weeks ago. Rachel started to play peek-a-boo with him, and he turned his head further round to look at her.

Rachel and Rebecca eventually tired of the game, and they returned to watching the TV. Jacob let out a small yawn and I stood, with him still in my arms and I went to put him in his crib.

I went to go and fix the twins, myself and my husband some lunch. But when I got to the cupboards, they were practically empty. I sighed, I wish Billy would tell me, when we were out food, but that was like asking a pig to fly.

I grabbed my car keys. "Billy, I'm going to get some groceries!"

"'Kay!" Was the reply.

I walked to my car, waving to the twins in the living room as I did so. I got in and I eased out of the drive. I decided I might as well go to Forks to get the food, grab some of the stuff they didn't have on the reservation while I was there.

As I drove down the highway, someone came shooting down the road, someone I wasn't expecting to be coming right at me. I swerved, hoping that he would miss me. No such luck.

He hit the drivers side of the car, crumpling it. I felt the metal protest, as it hit my body. My last thought was of my family. How much I loved them.

A/N: Well, that was sadder than I expected it to be. Anyway, review!
