I just had this rattling around in my brain. I've read others stories on how the story line might continue after the end of Bridesmaid Up! So I would like to add mine to the mix too. Hope every one can enjoy it for what it is. Will continue if anyone really likes it, or I might continue just to give life to the ideas in my head :)

Disclaimer: I don't own anything, just playing with the characters for a while.

As Evan got out of the vehicle, he told Heather to stay in the car. Looking toward the wreckage on the road he could just make out a man holding another person, but couldn't see much more past the glare from the headlights.

Starting forward his first thoughts were for Cat. Where was she? Was she hurt? Taking in the scene Evan began to notice the somewhat erratic movements of the figure before him. From afar the man appeared dressed for the wedding, in a suit and tie, much like himself.

Nearing the man, Evan took a closer look at his precious burden, noting how he cradled the other in his arms with great care. Bending his head as if to provide himself the continued reassurance that the one in his arms was still there, Recognition dawned on Evan, it was Cat!

"Cat," he gasped. The sound that came next chilled him to the bone. A guttural growl emanated from the man holding Cat. Looking up from Cat to her captor Evan choked on his own breath. The figure before him didn't resemble any man he'd ever seen.

It bared its teeth behind drawn back lips in an oddly angular, yet disfigured face. Yellow eyes belied any humanity that the upright frame had originally given it.

Fear of the creature warred with Evan's fear for Cat. Stumbling slightly back from the two his mind raced. How to save Cat, get her away from this, this thing that had her?

Suddenly the growling tapered off to almost a whine, one might expect from a wounded animal. Evan looked once more at the creature holding Cat, noting the care in which it held her, he took a chance that it was human and could reason.

"I'm a doctor. She's hurt and you need to let me help her," looking into its yellow eyes, praying for a glimmer of understanding. Grunting in an oddly familiar way it shifted its weight as if to run. Then looking down at Cat it whimpered again and swung its head to meet Evan's gaze.

In all his life he had never seen the like before; this man-beast's eyes held so much pain and caring Evan knew it understood. Breathing heavily it carefully lowered itself to the pavement never letting go of Cat.

Remembering that Heather was in the car Evan turned slightly to yell back to her.

"Heather, call an ambulance, Cat's been hurt!"

"Already on the line with someone," she yelled back, still by Evan's car.

Moving forward slowly Evan shifted to get a better view of Cat's injuries without provoking what held her. Easing back her shirt he saw that she had been shot in her upper chest. Yanking off his jacket and avoiding the creature cradling her, he used it to staunch the flow of blood.

Pressing the cloth to her wound, Evan kept his head bowed, hoping to avoid looking at the beast. As the pressure increased Cat began to stir.

"Vincent…" She murmured.

"Catherine, I'm right here," the voice nearly made Evan fall over from where he was kneeling next to Cat. Startled he looked back up to the sound of the voice, there was a normal looking man with a scar running down his right cheek in place of the creature.

Speechless, he stared at the man while trying to keep his focus on helping Cat, before he could say a word, Heather appeared with her phone.

"Help will be here soon, how's my sister?"
