The summer night draped like velvet the two nude forms. Trowa lay, head upon Quatre's heart, and he gazed over the darkened pool. The water rippled, sparkling with the reflection of the star filled sky.
Quatre's heartbeat was slow, his breaths deep and lazy. He stroked Trowa's hair idly, twisting his fingers through the longer strands.
"I wish we could go farther," Quatre said.
"Hmm?" Trowa inquired. They two had long since and repeatedly gone as far as Trowa thought two people could go.
"Into Space." Quatre reached up with his hand, splayed his fingers across the night sky. "There's so much out there. So much to discover."
Trowa twisted to look up from the pool to the stars; with no other illumination nearby, the Milky Way was an especially bright swathe of light tonight.
"So much ilife/i," Quatre said. "I can feel it out there, trillions of voices..."
Trowa smiled and kissed Quatre's breastbone. "I love you," he said.
