Chapter 3

"What are you talking about?! Twenty munny for a piece of fruit?! What kind of store are you running?!" an angry growl brings our attention away from a merchant's wares, we had been examining. A man with blue hair and an 'X' emblazed on his forehead is giving a poor shopkeeper woman trouble about her prices, and I recognize him right off the bat.

"Saix! What are you doing here?!" I shout at him.

"I could ask you the same thing! I thought you were sick!" I blush again, Curse my inability to have a workable alibi. We walk over; Axel pays for the fruit and apologizes greatly for our comrades' 'Rudeness' as he put it. The woman takes the munny and we sprint away.

"Mayianna you have some explaining to do!" Saix growls. Although Xemnas and Saix are only four or five years older then me, I can't see them as a possible choice for a boyfriend.

"Well, first off, you Xemnas are a fun sucker. And Saix, you are just…" I begin to explain.

"Just what?" he growls, and I hide behind Axel and with the most innocent of faces I say

"Scwary" this causes both Axel and Xemnas to laugh, but he begins to boil. "Great, I've ticked off the beast, I'm screwed." Runs through my mind. Then some gentle music begins to invade the scene. It was a sweet melody, making me want to stop and listen. Saix even cools down enough to actually listen to it. We drift towards a small alcove where a small crowd has gathered. And sitting in the middle is a man of slight build, sandy blonde hair cut into a mullet style, and ocean blue eyes playing a small guitar.

"Hi there, does the lady have a request?" He asks as the crowd disperses and we sit down underneath the tree.

"No, nothing in particular." My legs ache from all of the walking, and with the setting sun, the world seems peaceful. He begins to strum a melody; it's simple, but sweet at the same time. My mind begins to drift as the flower petals from the blooms in the tree begin to fall around us. My mind drifts into sleep, and then the dream begins.

"Run little girl! Run! Run! Run!" Voices screech around me, but I can't seem to move fast enough.

"Run from the Prince of Shadows! Run for your life!" The prince of shadows was once myth, and then soon after Sora and Kairi returned from visiting the high King, he become a reality. You didn't want to be on the roads at night, because if he found you, you never came back. Then I see him, I stop in my tracks. He wore a long black cloak, his face is hidden by a hood, but I could still see his mouth, and it was in a small grin, then he mouthed something.

"What? I didn't hear that." I ask

"I said, Wake up!" then I sit upright, right into the musician's forehead.

"Ow, that really hurt! Are you ok?"

"Yea, you have a hard head." I manage to squeak out as he helps me to my feet.

"Talk about trying to get your dignity back" Axel snorts; a big goose egg begins to form on my forehead.

"I do believe that makes up for you lying, ain't Karma a kick?" Xemnas smirks and Saix is laughing so hard that he's still on the ground, rolling over. Talk about overdoing it. I'm blushing, and I so is the musician.

"So, who is it that I pay for the great performance?" Axel snickers.

"Demyx, but you don't have to pay me; it was an honor playing for such a fine lady." He says turning towards me, gently cupping my right hand in his right and kisses it lightly. Xemnas and Saix both stop laughing, the looks that they give him are hilarious enough for me to forget their little laughing fit they had at my expense. Axel couldn't keep from laughing.

"Look, it's getting late, and I'm sure that you don't want to encounter that 'Prince of Shadows' on the roads, so allow me to escort you to my place. To bunk for the night." Demyx offers.
"Sure," I smile, ignoring the shivers of the dream.

"Alright, but she bunks alone." I hear Saix grumble.
