"Am I finally going to die?"
Something she had been repeating to herself for the past several hours, ebony locks reaching well past knees in a messy ponytail, the woman in general was just dirty. If mud didn't cake her, blood clung drying to skin; dark brown eyes holding a heavy note of sorrow, how long had she lived and surivived now? Several centuries perhaps, several extremely lonely centuries filled with torture and blood, not only on her victims but on her own person. Coughing up a bit of the crimson life, it dribbled down her chin as she leaned into a tree, watching as a few assassins ran after a fake trail she left a few hundred yards away. Her vision blurred, splaying white for a moment before she grasped onto something, realizing it to be the mutt that had forced her to live this long, a small smile formed on bloody features. She grasped her side, which held a blade that was broken into her flesh, several more wounds decorating her lightly armored person. "...Geh..ah!" Gritting teeth, she pulled the blade free and threw it to the side, panting heavily as the wound was regripped in hopes of stiffling the bleeding.
"You won't die. You're to stubborn to die, remember?"
The ancient voice held notes of true power, something she had craved as a young and stupid girl, but indeed she remembered the memory quite well. As tears trailed down her cheeks, she leaned her head back against the husk, "Then how will we win, my darling pet?" It was almost like a taunt, but the dog answered as if it were an honest to the Gods question, "Submit to darkness, we give our pure souls to the darkness and become to monster we truly are.."
The smile fell, submit to darkness? Had she not done that when her fathers' blood splattered the walls, his head hanging off the closest branch? Seems like the dog disagreed, and took the initiative to introduce her to this so called darkness without warning. Gasping out in surprise not only by the arrow that lodged itself firmly next to her head, but the feeling that she was falling, and upon realizing that she was indeed falling into darkness, a screech of fear escaped her. It felt as if something had grabbed her, but with it being so dark she literally couldn't see her own hair flying past her head, there was nothing to do other than struggle against the binds that were quickly restraining her every move. Shaking, brown eyes shifted from left to right in hopes to see -what- exactly had her, it was only with her dog warned her of what it was that she finally released a bit of her own power. "It's the darkness."
With a fierce scream, she broke away from the binds and landed on what felt like hard ground, coughing up more blood, she gripped her side to look around wildly, "What the fuck..?" Then she was hit in the face, and before she could go flying, her back was slammed into so her entire body slammed with a sickening slap against the ground again, dazed, she had no initiative to fight back against the thing that literally beat her within an inch of her own life. She was to weak, having used most of her powers killing and getting away from the army aimed to slaughter her, and without that power..she was...
"Submit."
Anger encompassed every fiber of her being, eyes misty with tears of pain and anguish, she shakily got to one knee, a position most would assume to kneel before the darkness. Though that was far from what she was planning, glaring heatedly at the darkness before her, unable to see her own hand in front of her face, the girl reached out and grasped what felt like mist between her fingers. "Give me..your..power!" Her eyes lit up, everything hurt, but her greed would drive her into eternity with one simply sentence.
"I'll let you wash my colors away, take my soul and make it as dark as you, but I demand your power in return..give it to me and I'll show you what I can do. Give it to me!"
"Natsumi, you can't do that, the darkness will break us bo-..!"
Once again the feeling of tedrils wrapped around her, though this was different it seeped into her every pore and made every nerve feel like it was on fire. She screamed out in pure agony, ears ringing with a painful howl from the hound, it seemed to only grow worse when the tendrils literally raped her; screams muffled, body violated in every manner, she had passed out from the agony of it all. By the point of which consciousness slipped back into her grip, another onset of pure agony washed over her entire frame, brown eyes rolled into the back of her head as she attempted to scream again, it felt as if her mind was literally splitting; and that was almost exactly what had happened, but instead of her mind, the colors of her hair, eyes and skin was being literally -pulled- away from her arched frame. As the colors finally snapped away, it exploded as if fireworks had gone off before disappating into black once again. All that was left, was the panting and drooling mess of what use to be a colorful girl, long white hair now like silk trailed down her back, skin nearly translucent white. After the pain had passed, pleasure being left behind, a daemonic smirk curled her lips, she could feel the power of shadows dancing through her veins. "...Heheh.."
Rolling shoulders, several joints pointed back into place as she stood once again, noting that her armor had fallen off during the struggle; but that was ignored now, the dog seemed to silence out of pain for now, so she pushed forward and forced herself back into the realm of humanity. Once the light hit her senses, she looked up to note that this wasn't the place where she fell into the shadows; hell it didn't even look like the same era, the smells were different and the trees had been cleared out. Realization hit her as blood red hues opened, the shadow realm had held her within it's grasp for possibly longer than a single night. The mighty smirk fell slightly, noting of the snow white hair and translucent skin, her eyes narrowed as sharpened claws cut off the hair to long for its own good. Now reaching down to her shoulders, she began walking, the shadows seemed to morph in hopes of reaching her feet. Noting of this as well, her smirk grin back to the original porportion, "Hn, now I'm not only the Dog Queen, but a Shadow Queen? Very well. Let me show you what power is meant to be used for." Hair thrown to the side, the Queen walked the realm of humanity once again, stronger than ever.
