I don't normally post things so short, but I thought that this was a story where the addage "Less is more" applies. Same with this author's note. This is the night after Al arrives in Resembool after getting his body back.

I don't own FMA, nor the characters.

Al turned around. He didn't know where he was and couldn't see anything around him that might give a sign of where he was. Last thing he remembered, he was falling asleep after and exhausting day. It felt good to be back in Resembool, but he didn't know where he was now. It seemed to be some sort of room with comfortable couches and chairs. There were lamps casting light all around, creating a warm and welcoming environment.

"Big brother?"

Al's head snapped around as fast as it would go. His eyes widened and his heart started pounding heavily.

"Nina?"

"Big brother!" There were two arms wrapped around his neck and bright smile face underneath his. She looked exactly how he had last seen her before her father had turned her into a monster, twin braids and all. "I'm so happy you came!"

"Nina? What… but…"

"You're here now! We can play right? We won't be able to play slide anymore, but we can still play!" Hopping off his lap and onto the floor, Nina grabbed Al's hand and dragged him over to a door. When she opened it and pulled him outside, he was standing in the Tucker's front yard where Alexander was running around in circles.

"Alexander! Big brother's here! He's gonna play with us!"

"Nina!" Al cried again. The girl turned around and stared at him.

"What's wrong, Big Brother?"

"How is this possible?" Al finally choked out. She was staring at him with the same blue eyes that he could never forget. "I'm not… I didn't… did I?"

"No, you're not going to stay with me. I wish we could play forever and ever, but the lady said you weren't allowed to stay."

"What lady?"

"The pretty lady! She had brown hair and really pretty gray eyes! She was the one who told me to play with you!" Brown hair and grey eyes? "She told me that you felt bad about what happened."

"Nina, I'm sorry-"

"But I told her that once we played, everything would be okay!" she finished off, smiling. "I just wish we could have played sooner. I tried to come to you sooner, but you weren't here. The pretty lady told me that the big armor you were wearing made it hard for you to get here. But it's okay now, because you're here! Bet you can't catch me!"
