Of Babies and Politics

Jeddie Cuddles

"I don't want to talk about it anymore, Eddie. I'm tired of the fights. Especially with my sister." Jill stomped away and slammed their bedroom door closed.

Eddie sighed and followed. "Babe, I'm sorry. I don't want to push you one way or the other. And I'm not your sister, I'm your husband."

She opened the door. "I just want a family with you, Eddie. And Lissa doesn't see it."

"No, she doesn't. So let's not push it. We're fine how we are, I told you that. We have Lissa and Christian's kids. They are always around. Josh loves us. Marti will too. We don't have to have our own."

"But you want them. And so do I."

He looked at her a moment. Then he pulled her to the bed, kicking his shoes off as he went. He pulled her down with him. "Better not to have a royal incident." He cupped her cheek. "I hate that you can't have what your sister and Sydney have. It sucks. And I'm insanely jealous of them, too." He kissed her. "But we should think of it this way: you and I are free. We can go anywhere and do anything we want and not have to factor in getting our children there or finding someone to watch them."

"I guess." She rested her head against his. "I just love you. So much. And I want to have a family with you. I don't like playing these games."

"I don't either." He rolled onto his back and pulled her head in his shoulder.

She sighed. "Let's just do it. Then they can't say anything."

"Jill, I don't think that would be a smart move."

"No. Probably not." She kissed him softly. "Just hold me." She whispered and pressed her eyes into his shoulder. She started crying softly once more.

Eddie gathered her closer, pressing his forehead to Jill's. "I love you. I love you so much."

She sniffed and opened her eyes to look into his. "I feel like something is missing. I have you. I have a successful career. I'm the queen's sister, for crying out loud. If I want a baby, I should have a baby."

"So, we'll go with the dumb move. Let's have that baby."

"Are you sure?"

"No harm in trying." He rolled her onto her back and kissed her hard on the mouth.

She wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "I'm kind of emotionally drained after my fight with Lissa."

"And I've had a long day." He said regretfully.

"Rain check. But it's definitely happening I'm not letting you back out."

"Definitely not." He rested his head on her shoulder. His hand found hers and threaded their fingers together.

Jill kissed his hand. "Are you sure about this?"

"I want the family we deserve. We've worked long and hard for it."

"Long and hard?" She chuckled.

"Are you sure you're too worn out?" He nuzzled her neck and nipped at her skin.

She purred. "Maybe not." She moved her head to the side.

Eddie moved over her and took control of her mouth. "I love you."

"I love you." She threw him onto his back. "And I really love this."
