Well, I just sort of had this idea float into my head out of the blue.
I don't know if it'd be considered ooc- but I needed to write it.
Like always, I don't own what I don't own.
Today is the same as always for Lexaeus. Kill all the Heartless you can find, and don't get spotted by anyone, if at all possible.
.
And so, the silent hero stands in an alleyway, wrapped in shadows. Just like always. Don't get spotted, even if it's only by the small girl playing hopscotch a few meters away.
She bounces from square to square, pink bottom lip bit in concentration, blond braids flying up and down, and white dress ballooning around pudgy knees.
Tap tap one two three over the pebble five six seven eight nine sky blue turn once nine eight seven six five over the pebble two one. Now, one two three four over the pebble six seven... Little princess, look up. Do you not see the Heartless behind the flower pot? Do you not hear it? Can you not sense it's excitement over your young, pure heart? Please, look up. Run away from the monster. No honorable, pure hero is going to come to rescue the damsel. Your hero is not here. Run, please... sky blue nine eight seven six over the pebble four three two one...HURRY! GO!
.
But little girls cannot read minds, regardless of how cute they are.
.
And so, one two three four five over the pebble... Please... I cannot... You cannot see this hero... hero...What sort of hero AM I? But I can't... orders...
On and on, one two three four five six over the pebble... And the black monster edges closer... sky blue nine eight over the pebble six five four three two one... What do I do?
He eyes at the creeping Heartless, fingers tightening on his axe. If only she would leave...But how can I...Of course. But...
There is nothing else to be done.
.
…Sky blue nine over the pebble...
.
But the pebble is no longer there. Instead, it is directly in the middle of the seven square.
.
The princess trips and falls with a painful slap of skin against cement. Lexaeus winces, almost feeling his own knee's skin scraped off. She hunches a moment, quivering with pain. Tears begin to trickle down her cheeks, and she shakily rises to her feet. Blood slides down her leg in a sticky stream as she hobbles away.
Finally. Run home, princess. This hero will kill the monster. He does not rescue the princess.
A single swipe of the axe and it is done.
He leaves the bloodstained game board, on his way 'home'.
A silent hero wrapped in darkness, without a princess.
Just like always.
Reviews are always appreciated! But don't feel it's necessary.
