A/N: Hey X-men fans. I love the X-men movies. I've never read the comics or seen the cartoons but I have seen the movies and I loved the relationship that Professor X had with Mystique when they were young and I think Jennifer and James played it out so well in X-men: First Class. I'm looking forward the First Class sequel and The Wolverine. I wrote this after having watched First Class more than a dozen times since my mother brought it. I hope you all like and I hope I didn't do out of character with Charles and Raven. This is my first ever X-men fic so please go easy on me.

Family and Proud

From the moment that Charles Xavier found Raven Darkholme in his mansion kitchen at the age of twelve, they had grown extremely close. While both had to hide their mutations from Charles' stepfather who was 'normal', they enjoyed each other company and felt comfortable with being able to use their mutations in front of each other without feeling like outsiders.

"Do you think we'll ever live with mutants being accepted?" Raven asked one day on the way to school.

"I don't know," Charles admitted as he kept his eyes on the pavement beneath their feet. "But I do know one thing," Raven looked up at him hopefully. "That one day you and I will be able to live in peace and you won't have to hide your natural blue form." It had been two years since that fateful night and Charles had been extremely glad to find her. Since his twin brother had been declared brain dead at birth, he had felt that he had no one to confide in.

"Charles?"

"Yes, Raven?"

"Can you promise me one thing?"

"Anything." Charles said as he and Raven stopped walking.

"I never want you to read my mind." Raven said hesitantly.

"I would never read your mind unless you told me to." Charles promised with a smile.

"Thank you, dear brother." Raven said in a fake British accent. Charles smiled as they continued to walk towards the school gates. Coming from a wealthy family, Charles had never had to worry about money.

"We're family and proud," Charles said his smile getting bigger by the second as he placed arm around Raven's shoulder.

"I love you Charles," Raven said, her blonde hair blowing the breeze.

"I love you too Raven, you're my sister, why wouldn't I love you?" Charles said as they walked towards their first class.

"Because I'm blue?" Raven said miserably.

"Raven," Charles said gently sighing. "You're not just blue. You're beautiful. It doesn't matter what form you take you're still you. It doesn't matter on what you look like, you're still you in personality." Raven nodded as they started to walk again.

As the years progressed, Raven lived with Charles all throughout his university days and was there when he graduated from Oxford. While Mrs. Xavier had died some years earlier, Charles considered Raven to be his only family once they had moved out of the Xavier Manor in which they had lived all their lives. Even when they went their separate ways after Sebastian Shaw and his Hellfire club almost started World War III, Charles and Raven still thought of each other as family but when Erik had managed to turn Raven completely against Charles, the former siblings knew that there was no going back for them.
