Characters: Mako, Korra

Prompt: Korra makes Mako dinner!

"Korra! What're you doing? Am I allowed down yet?" Mako shouts downwards from the attic of the Pro-Bending Arena.

"Oh, nothing Mako, you know just doing stuff! And NO, you're not! So you better stay put until I say so!" Korra replies childishly. It's evident she's hiding something. Mako hears pots clanging on the floor.

I wonder what's going on down there, Mako thinks. He waits a couple more minutes until he can bare it no more, and begins to stand when miraculously, Korra finally calls him down.

"Now, this was really hard to do, but I thought you'd like it!" Korra says, excited.

Mako steps down from the attic to see a sight that to this day, he couldn't believe. Korra had made dinner! Mako was the one to usually cook the food in hisand Bolin's apartment, and he was usually the one who made Korra's meals everyday after practice.

He was so surprised of her actions that all he could think about was how in love with her he was. He was so touched by her attempt that the only words he could muster were "Amazing, thank you"

Korra knew Mako was never really treated to basic things like a simple meal growing up. She knew he had to fend for himself and Bolin. With this knowledge, Korra wanted to show Mako how much she loved him and admired him.

"Sit! Come eat! I made noodles with sausage!" Korra pestered him and quickly airbended him towards the chair.

"Wait, Korra-" she paused in her frantic attempt at seating him to listen to her boyfriend.

"I just wanted to say, thank you" and Mako presses his lips against hers.

She begins to kiss back, reveling in his perfect touch as he grasps her shoulders and pulls her in tighter, hugging her. And at that moment, she knows she has given Mako everything he needs at that place in time and knows that he's all she needs.

Korra pulls away first, reluctantly. "Come on Mako, the food will get cold" She kisses him lightly on the cheek and sits in a chair. Mako sits across from Korra and reaches for her hand. Korra interlocks their fingers while Mako begins to take a bite. He eagerly tries it but realizes it tastes like hot, cabbagey water mixed with pork broth.

"Did I mention that I've never cooked before?" Korra says, mouth full, as she struggles to swallow her first bite.

The two spit the contents of their mouth back into their bowls, and proceed to howl as they laugh.

"I love you Korra, but I think we'll leave the cooking to me until I teach you a little" Mako says smiling, staring into the sapphire eyes he adores so much.

"I love you too, Mako…but I'm so hungry!" Karro says clutching her grumbling stomach.

Mako stands and sweeps her out of her chair and presses his lips onto hers once more. He pulls away quickly and kisses her hand.

"Here, I'll whip something up"
