How it should have ended.
"When I was nine, there was a kid that bullied me as his hobby, no matter how fast I ran he always ran faster." They walked down the steps of Degrassi, tension between them could be taken has him wanting to just hold her and her wanting to hit and then let him hold her. They watched as Fitz was put into the cop car.
"You not nine anymore." She told him, arms crossed, as they descended the final step. The night was cold and darkness loomed over their shoulders.
"Yeah, well neither are the kids so what am I suppose to do?" He demanded.
"I don't have the answer, but if this is it, then I can't be with you." She told him, her voice wavering. Eli snapped his head back to her.
"No, no Clare I know you shaken up but-"
"Shaken up, Eli, he had a knife, I thought-" She wormed her arms around herself, squeezing her shoulders.
"I know, but I need you right now- all the time, god I need you. Clare, this won't happen again." He had grabbed her shoulders and turned her to face him, he slouched a little to get face to face but she refused to look him in the eyes.
"That's only because he's going to jail, what happens when the next bully rolls around, I don't think my heart can take anymore stress. I just can't Eli." She clamps a hand over her mouth to muffle another cry.
"I won't be your stressor, I promise, we can hold hands and walk down the lane, I'll buy you flowers… well maybe not that, heh-" He laughs darkly, shaking his head at the thought of all this being over.
"This isn't funny!" Her hands were balled into fists at her side, she was shaking where she was standing staring at the ground, her tears dropping to the concrete, echoing in his ears.
"Clare, I-" Eli stopped talking, he didn't know what else to say. Clare looked at him, hot tears still streaming down her face. She put her face into Eli's chest and cried. Eli cradled her in his arms and held her tight enough to hurt. The sirens surrounded them, chatter numbing the area. Clare cried harder, and Eli held her tighter, "I'm not going anywhere Clare."
"I know." She whimpered into his jacket.
THERE, that's how it should have ended, I refuse the last episode, and substitute it with my own! No breaking up, nuh-huh. All happy endings, I can take depressing, but I WILL NOT STAND for them…'breaking up.' Degrassi can go die not, Eli and Clare were the only reason ANYONE ever watched the boiling point anyways.
If you like my version better, (and lets face it even if you thought this sucked any thing where Clare and Eli are still together is better), then REVIEW!
