I do not own the show VicTORious, nor do I own the song, A Drop In The Ocean
A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
The younger Vega rolled over in bed, reaching for her nightstand, ready to turn this music off once and for all. The internet was contradictory; some people said that sad songs helped you get your feelings out and eventually got you to feel better, other people said that it wouldn't help you and that it could just make you even more depressed.
Tori was feeling the latter of the two.
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
"That's true..." she muttered, and stopped reaching to turn the music off. Instead she sat up in bed, rubbing her eyes. "...I need the rain...so badly right now..."
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven
She closed her eyes, imagining just last weekend.
"Tori." a familiar voice sighed, familiar arms around her body, in a setting that would never be familiar again. "Babe...get up..."
Tori had opened her eyes, smiling at her girlfriend, Jade West. Nothing was out of the ordinary, this is how they usually woke up. Whether it was at her house or Tori's, it was usually sweet. Jade would wrap her in her arms closer, kissing her forehead and muttering cute things in her ear, sometimes having to do with what they did the night before, or just about Tori in general.
"You're so beautiful." Jade whispered, sending a chill down the Latina's spine.
I don't wanna waste the weekend
If you don't love me pretend
A few more hours then it's time to go
None of that was mirrored in yesterday's gripping preformance in front of their friends. Neither of them had really mentioned that they were a couple; Tori was hoping that they would just kind of have it figured out by now.
"Jade, I think we should tell them. I mean, it's been a few months, I don't think-" Tori began, but something flashed in Jade's eyes. Fear, annoyance, anger-maybe a mix of the three.
"I won't." Jade said simply. "I'm not going to do that, Tori. Do you want to ruin what we have?"
"No, I don't want to ruin it, but don't you love me...?" Tori said, and each second of Jade's hesitation hurt her more and more.
As my train rolls down the east coast I wonder how you keep warm
It's too late to cry
Too broken to move on
Before Tori could get an answer, her friends had shown up around the car, welcoming them to school like usual. Beck was smiling, Cat was talking to Robbie in an animated fashion, probably telling him another story about her brother, and Andre stood with his pearphone in his hands, typing fast.
Tori didn't notice that she was crying. Tori didn't realize that she was angry, either, because she's usually not angry. She looked at Jade as she got out of her car with a glare on her face-watching Jade ignore her presence. Watching Jade wink at a guy who passed them, watching her play pretend like they did every single day since they got together...and she snapped.
And still I can't let you be
Most nights I hardly sleep
"JADE WEST," Tori shouted at the top of her lungs, "I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE."
Obviously, to everyone around she seemed like a lunatic. Her friends didn't know what was going on, the strangers that were onlooking didn't know what was going on, Lane didn't know, and neither did Sikowitz.
No one knew that she loved Jade, and that Jade loved her.
And she just couldn't take that anymore.
Don't take what you don't need from me
