AU in which Daisy has been captured by Hydra and becomes an asset.
The first thing Quake feels when she wakes is the ground rumbling. In another life, Quake would have wondered if she caused it. In this life, however, Quake knows better than to use her powers. Quaked does not want to be wiped. In this life Quake sees lights flashing. In this Quake can see her partner, the Asset, get hit by the concrete ceiling. Her partner is named the Winter Soldier. To their handlers, they are both the Asset. The Winter Soldier is one asset. Quake was once known as Skye, then as Daisy. Now all she is is Quake. Quake sees the opportunity. Winter sees the choice. Both leave as the rumbles smell like fire and smoke comes through the cracks. In this life, Winter remembers Steve. Quake only remembers Electricity. Winter and Quake see the sky. Both see the choice. Both choose to run.
Quake remembers she used to be called Daisy. Quake doesn't remember if she has a last name. Daisy remembers her team. Her once family. Quake remembers their screams. Quake had found Fitz and Jemma together, Jemma tried to run. She didn't make it far. Fitz begged for his friend to remember him. The Asset doesn't know this man. He dies when she was done with Jemma. She crushed his throat until he no longer made a sound. She found an Agent May next. Melinda she thinks, now it doesn't matter. Agent May was harder, a stronger fighter, Quake still puts her down one of the only targets to hurt Quake. Phil Coulson was her mission. The rest were not intended targets, but unfortunate ones who prevented Quake from her mission. Phil Coulson accepted his fate. He did not beg, perhaps he knew it was futile. He died from his heart bursting. The asset Quake had completed her mission. To make sure her programming was complete the handlers assigned the asset Quake to kill Lincoln Campbell. Lincoln was a reminder, a memory. Lincoln was the only mission the asset known as Quake failed.
The Winter Soldier only failed one mission. His mission to kill Steve Rogers. Steve Rogers made the Asset remember Bucky. The Asset known as The Winter Soldier, his screams that night would be the catalyst that was the reckoning of hydra. The Winter Soldier begs Quake for mercy. Quake shows none.
The assets target is Natalia Romanova. A former Asset. Their mission is to bring her in for reconditioning. The mission is quick. The fallout of the mission is the Avengers. The Avengers come straight to their door. Natalia is efficient and strong. She refuses to break. The Avengers come to save her before they can 'fix' her. The Avengers fighting start a fire. The fire allows the Assets to Break Free.
Quake refuses to let Winter die. But Quake refuses to let the building stay standing. Winter tells her the story of a man named Steve. In Winters past life as Bucky, Steve wore an American Flag outfit. Quake in her past life as Daisy, barely remembers an American Flag man. On the battlefield she finds Flag. The Flag comes with the Archer. The Archer tries to hit her with an arrow. The arrow doesn't come close. The Flag recognizes Winter. He offers to help. Quake knows that Winter trusts the American Flag. So Quake lets him. Quake tells the Flag that she has a mission. The Flag understands. Quake leaves to deal with the base.
A Quake makes it to the center of the building. She remembers that her name is Daisy. She was once an agent of SHIELD. Daisy brings the Hydra agents around her to their knees. And as she starts to bring down the building. She tells them.
"I am not a puppet anymore. I have no strings left on me."
