Shad sniffed roughly as he stepped over rubble, not knowing if there was a body under the fallen concrete. His heart broke when he heard screams of Anmwe! Anmwe! It sounded like a little girl. He could picture her face in his mind right now. Twisted in agony and probably cut up, her body crushed under heavy concrete which was once a home. She was probably thirsty and hungry, gasping for oxygen. He wanted to help her so bad but he couldn't do it. So he called over a group of workers to help save the little girl. Shad walked away from the scene, not able to take in the girl's sweet face twisted in pain and agony. He walked past a sweet old lady, probably in her 70's, half of her wrinkled face covered in gauze. Sa'k pase? Shad asked with a sad smile. The women smiled back and answered Mwen swaf anpil. Shad quickly grabbed a water bottle and help the Haitian woman drink the water. Mesi, mesi! Shad smiled as the woman walked away in the sweltering heat. He walked even farther and passed the fallen Cathedral. The same Cathedral he prayed in when his family visited Haiti when he was 10. He still remembered reciting the "Our Father" in Creole. A tear slid down his sweaty face as the memories came back to him. All he heard were screams of Anmwe! Anmwe! from every corner. He then passed the White house. The whole thing just a crumpled heap . He then started feeling faint and fanned himself, well trying to; his Haitian flag tee shirt sticking to is sticky skin. He cried a little more when he watched rescue workers carry dead bodies. Their bodies battered and bruised, eyes shut to the cruel world around them. He watched as doctors asked little crying children "Kote ii ou fe mal?" The children screamed back "Mwen grangou!" After hours of helping hand out food he walked over to what was once a house, now a crumpled hill of concrete and tin. He sat down next to his boyfriend of a year, Jayson. His head was bowed and hands were folded together in prayer. He only looked up when he felt Shad's hand softly rub his back. "Hey baby" Jay said softly to Shad. "Hey sweetie. What's up?" "Well I was just praying for your people. It's s-so sad how long they've been suffering. From economic problems to hurricanes, to this terrible earthquake. " "Aww baby-boo don't worry Haitians are strong and faithful. My people will make it true this! Not today and not next month but in a few years we'll make it." Shad smiled and pecked Jay's cheek. "I love you baby boy. Thank you for coming with me" "Awww baby I would've came anyway. I love you too" Jay pulled Shad into a sweet and loving kiss, pouring all his love into that one kiss. Breaking away, the two lovers got up hand and hand and walked over to a food station helping the poor Haitian people. Shad was so happy he has such a sweet and caring boyfriend. He didn't have to come, but Jay was determined to help. In a few years his people would be back on their feet and building houses. And he would have a husband.

End.
