Maddy was on Fresh duty, aka the sixteenth pilgrimage arrival. Though she was a scientist, she was assisting the medical staff with the CO2 Inhalers, due to the fact the CO2 molecules had to be monitored every little while. While it wasn't much work, Maddy wished Mark was with her. Her husband had just gotten home after being OTG for a week, so Taylor put him in charge of Terra Nova instead of making him go OTG again. Their three-year-old daughter, Macey, loved being with her dad and loved sitting in Taylor's chair more.

After everyone expected arrived, they made there way back to Terra Nova. Maddy was walking with her mother, who was there as 'Head of the Medical Staff', Maddy heard someone say her name. She turned to see an old classmate off hers, Jason Cooke. Jason and her were never great friends because he was 'popular' at school and known for being a player, but they were nice to each other.

"Jason? Wow! What are the odds?" Maddy asked him, smiling. Jason had always thought Maddy was extremely attractive, and now he finally had a chance with her; or so he thought.

"Are you part of the agriculture staff? Because I'm the new department head." Jason stated proudly.

"Oh no. I'm a scientist. I was just helping my mother today." Maddy explained. They talked for the rest of the way; Maddy did most of the talking though. Jason remembered how annoying her rambling was, but her face made up for it.

They got to the gate, and Mark ordered for it to be open. The moment it opened, Macey ran out. Jason was shocked when the little girl jumped into Maddy's arms.

"Mommy! Hi Mommy! Daddy let me sit in Commander Taylor's chair!" The little girl said excitedly. Jason was shocked that Maddy had a daughter, and was wondering if she was a single mom…

"Hey Sweetie." Mark said to Maddy, giving a peck on the lips. Jason's hopes slowly died. She had a husband. Mark was wearing his uniform, and was bigger than Jason. Jason wasn't going to mess with him.

"Mark, this is Jason. We went to school together!" Maddy exclaimed. They talked a little while longer before Maddy, or 'Dr. Reynolds' as Jason just found out, had to go eat with her family. Jason was left standing in disappointment.

"I don't like the way that guy looked at you." Mark told Maddy later that night. Maddy rolled her eyes.

"Don't worry. I'm yours." Maddy said, as she gave him a chaste kiss.
