Disclaimer: I don't own anything you may recognise; no matter how badly I want to, just my own ideas.
Based off the Pussycat Doll song I'm done. I suggest you listen to it while reading; it helps get the message across.
James sat sullenly on the doorstep. It was the first day of summer and already the plans he made had been cancelled. Logan had called him this morning to apologise, explaining that there was some medical thing he was given a chance at and what kind of friend would James have been if he got upset with his friend. The pretty boy knew it had always been Logan's dream to be a doctor, so an opportunity like this was one he knew the smart boy couldn't turn down.
After ending his call with Logan, James' thoughts immediately turned to Kendall, mentally making plans for him and the blonde to hit the ice. But then he remembered that Kendall was out of town for the whole summer, visiting some distant and stuffy relatives. His mom and dad were both busy at work so James had no other choice but to sit out on his front porch and people watch until something more interesting came along.
James had always liked people watching, he didn't know why but there was something about watching the way people carried themselves as they walked down the street or how they dressed that the brunette found interesting. It didn't hurt that whenever a pretty girl or a group of them walked past they would smile and giggle as he flashed him the awarding winning 'James Diamond' smile.
Today however there were hardly any people about, the majority of the families on James' street having gone away for the summer. A small frown tugged at James' features, his back settling back against the cold wood of his front door, preparing himself for yet another long and somewhat boring day. That was until an engine was heard, piquing the tall boy's interest.
Sitting forward James watched as a slightly weathered movers' truck trundled down his street, pulling up outside the empty house across the road from him. A sleek SUV followed behind it and the pretty boy watched with interest as his new neighbours revealed themselves to him. A Hispanic man slightly shorter than James was the first to step out of the vehicle. There was a slight air of authority and power about the man as he walked around the car to hold the door open for who the pretty boy assumed was his wife. And that's when James spotted it, a silver badge sat clipped to the man's belt, glinting when the sun hit it. Squinting the tall boy managed to work out that it was similar to those worn by the local cops.
The wife was petite, her head only reaching the shoulder of her husband. A stack of papers were clutched tightly in one hand, a cell phone in the other. James saw her smile spread across her features as she looked up at the house, exchanging a few words with her husband, a hand moving to tug open the back door.
James had to bite back his laugh as the door opened and a small Latino boy tumbled out of the car onto the pavement. He jumped up quickly righting his clothes as well as the shiny black hockey helmet that sat proudly on his head.
Okay this isn't a whole Chapter, this is just a rough outline of an idea I got last night. This is my first time writing AU so please bear with me. I would really love to hear what you think of it and if you think I should continue it. Any thoughts on this would be great, so please let me know.
