Mischief Managed
"Mommy!" shouted six- year- old Francesca Adelaide Beilschmidt. Following closely behind the young girl was her cousins, Antoinette Lorelei Beilschmidt, who was five months younger that Francesca, and five- year- old Miguel Alessandro Vargas- Carriedo. The children ran into the kitchen and found Feliciana in there with Ludwig.
"Daddy!" shouted Francesca as she ran toward her mommy and daddy. Ludwig picked the little girl up and kissed her on the cheek.
"And how is my little girl?" asked Ludwig.
"Fine, Daddy," replied Francesca as the German man put her down, "Me, Annie, and Miguel were just playing and got hungry."
The three children took their seats at the table.
Antoinette, or Annie as everyone called her, was a blonde girl with short pigtails and glasses. She looked and acted exactly like her mother, Madeline 'Maddie' Williams- Beilschmidt. Ludwig knew that the little girl was highly capable of causing trouble worthy of her father, Gilbert.
Miguel was the son of Antonio and Feliciana's brother Lovino, adopted shortly after the boy's birth. Ludwig was thankful that he acted more like Antonio than Lovino.
Feliciana finished making lunch and began to serve the kids. Ludwig kissed his wife on the cheek and left the kitchen. Moments later, the German man cursed loudly in his native tongue. Ludwig ran into the kitchen, a familiar book in his hand.
"Francesca Adelaide Beilschmidt!"
Miguel leaned in and whispered into his cousin's ear.
"Your daddy found what we were looking at, Addie."
The six- year- old girl gulped slightly.
"Uh-oh. Daddy caught us looking at his fun books," Francesca whispered back to Miguel.
Antoinette looked carefully at the book hanging from Ludwig's hand.
"My daddy has that book, Uncle Ludwig," the blonde girl said calmly, taking a bite of her sandwich.
Ludwig mentally face palmed. He needed to hid his 'collection' in a better spot.
