There are no secrets in life, just hidden truths that lie beneath the surface.
In a world ruled by the media, it's impossible to live a secret life. But, there are those who still lead them. You have your loving family man who dresses up at night to play his role as dame or the seeming blonde bimbo who had the highest score on her SAT's… to name a few.
…and then there's Dexter.
Now, Dexter is not your typical father of three. Sure, you may think like he is but, you'd be very mistaken. You see, Dexter has some kind of darkness in him. Now, you can all laugh and say that everyone's got some darkness in them but do they feel the need, the urge to kill? To slit someone's throat or to stab the lifeline and just watch the blood flow from it's body? To feel the rush, the adrenaline bursting through their veins after they finish the kill?
All his life, Dexter has followed his father's code. The code that keeps his 'Dark Passenger', the serial killer inside him, satisfied. But, many things has changed since his father's death including his career as a blood spatter analyst for the M.M.P.D. as well as his sister, Debra, who has followed her father's footsteps by becoming detective and the death of his wife, Rita, leaving him a widower with their three kids. So, maybe it's time to loosen his father's code a bit, maybe it's time to make his own. After all, he already violated the most sacred part of his father's code; never let anyone discover your true self. Well, his best friend didn't really discover as he told her so himself. She didn't even do as much as flinch as he told her his biggest secret he was carrying with all his life. Not even his sister or his wife knew Dexter's true inner self. She just whipped her red hair, fluttered her huge eyelashes and said; ''Tell me everything.'' And so he did. It was the very first time Dexter felt relief in his life. A new freedom that was so unknown to him that he finally understood the meaning of companionship; of friendship.
A whole new chapter began for Dexter Morgan, and it is yet to be written.
