Chapter One

He stood staring at her as she swayed to the music. Her long brown hair swept away by the wind. She looked like an angel sent from heaven. Her mesmerizing sapphire eyes penetrated his lavish green ones. She was everything he ever dreamed about.

"Matt!" he heard a voice in the distance. "Matt!" the voice grew louder. "Dude, we're off the stage." He turned to face the man that was yelling at him. The man waved him over. As Matt remembered the angel he turned again to face the crowd. She was gone. Frantically he skimmed the immense gathering and spotted her in the back…leaving.

Matt began to run; handing his guitar to a buddy. He raced through the mass of people as his security team ran close behind him. Finally he reached her. Nervously he grabbed her hand. Turning around her eyes met his again. Matt stuttered at saying "hello."

"Hi." The young girl replied, her hands shaking with excitement.

"May I ask your name?" he struggled once more to express the thousand thoughts going through his mind.

"Kathryn." She nodded.

"I, uh, I'm Matthew." He smiled.

"Well, it's an honor to meet you Matt." She giggled.

"The pleasures mine." Matt kissed her hand lightly. "Do you care to join me in dinner tonight?"

"I'd love to." Kathryn smiled. Matt held her hand tightly as he lead her backstage.

Later

"So, tell me about yourself, Kathryn." Matt pursued a conversation at the dinning table.

"Well, I'm twenty years old with a degree in teaching." She told him.

"What do you teach?"

"I teach music." Kathryn smiled.

Matt smiled back at her. "That's nice."

"Thank you." Kathryn nodded. "What about you?"

"I graduated from George Town University in Massachusetts with a degree in music and psychology."

"Ah, you beat me with a psychology degree." She laughed. "So why this path? Why a band?"

"Well in college, I met Keith Kane. One day, I was outside strumming my guitar and Keith over heard me. He asked if I was interested in playing with him down at a local bar. From there, our band grew and escalated."

"Wow, and look how far you guys have come." Kathryn smiled with a small laugh.

There was a long pause. Matt reached across the table. Kathryn allowed him to take her by the hand.

"I must admit, when I saw you in the audience, you reminded me of an angel. Sitting her in front of you is like a miracle." Matt's face turned a shade of red. "I know this may sound sudden, but you are all I ever dreamed of."

Kathryn broke eye contact and held her head down. Her smile faded a bit.

"Kathryn, come with me." He stood and led her out of the riverside restaurant and to the pier. This is the most beautiful city I have ever seen." He leaned against the wooden railing. "I don't wan to move fast, Kathryn. I was to do things right by you."

She looked up to him.

"I want us to build a relationship and get to know each other." Matt stepped closer to her.

"I agree."

"When the tour is over, I'm coming back for you. Until then, I will call and email and text or whatever you want to do."

"Ok." Kathryn smiled. "I'll wait for you."

Matt leaned into her as she held her head up to his. He kissed her lightly on the lips. Fireworks cracked as the night came to an end.
