AC-I was digging in my writing archives, and I found this short piece I wrote way back in 5th grade when assigned to write a dialogue between Charlie Brown and Lucy. I lost the original, but re-wrote this a few years ago. Hope you enjoy it! I had fun writing it, anyway. :)

One sunny summer afternoon, Charlie Brown was out in his backyard watering the garden when Lucy called over the backyard fence, "Hello, Charlie Brown!"

"Hi!" Charlie Brown replied. "What have you been doing this summer?"

"Not much - What in the world is your dog doing, Charlie Brown?" exclaimed Lucy.

Over Charlie Brown's shoulder, Lucy had just seen Snoopy in a long tan coat and a dark green, somewhat floppy-brimmed hat darting suspiciously from tree to tree and from bush to bush with a magnifying glass in his hand.

"Oh, Snoopy is just pretending to be a detective. Last week we watched a Sherlock Holmes movie on our satellite TV's "Pay-Per-View" program, and he has been trying to solve some mysteries ever since. Tonight we're going to watch another movie!"

"Charlie Brown!" called his mother.

"Bye, Lucy! My mom's calling me in for supper now. See you tomorrow!" Charlie Brown said.

"Ok! See you then!" Lucy called back.

The next morning when Lucy was in her backyard, she spied Charlie Brown over the fence. Snoopy was nowhere in sight. Lucy called over the fence, "Hey, Charlie Brown! What movie did you watch last night?"

Charlie Brown answered, "Oh, we watched the new Tarzan movie!"

"Did you like it? I would like to see - AAAAAAHHHHHH! Snoopy! What in the world are you doing? Put me down now!"

Snoopy, dressed in a spotted animal skin and holding onto a rope, swung wildly through the trees with Lucy in his arms.

"SNOOPY! You're not Tarzan, and I'm NOT JANE! Put me down this instant! DON'T YOU DARE try to kiss me with your doggy lips!"

Watching the scene from the ground, Charlie Brown burst into chuckles.
