So this was good-bye. She couldn't believe it. They had their final kiss. She couldn't await his return and he hadn't even left yet.
-Several hours later-
The way he spoke so gently to her. The words still rang in her ear.
"Katara… I will be back, before you know it, I promise"
She slowly walked around camp still sulking still thinking of what he said. She tried to think of everything good. Katara knew he would come back and they would share more memories. Aang hadn't said what it was he was going to do or where he was going. But all katara knew was that she couldn't wait for him to come back.
-six months went by-
Katara hadn't done much the past month. She laughed and smiled little, she cried a lot, mostly, in her sleep. People felt her pain or said they did. She felt tired now, judging by the sun she assumed it was about 7 pm. She went into the tent. She heard a soft grumble. She had no idea what the sound was. Katara walked outside only to see a small fuzzy dot, which was far off, approaching to fast. Katara was nervous; she took her stance ready to fight. Then she realized that dot was none other than Appa.
"Appa, that can't be Appa. Okay I'm just upset I'll close my eyes and Appa will go away" she closed her eyes and reopened them. Sure enough when she opened her eyes Appa was right in front of her! Katara walked up so slowly she was hardly moving. She touched Appa's fur. She cried out in joy and jumped on the fuzzy beast. As excited as she was to see Appa her mind still drifted towards Aang. She climbed on the beast to find Aang asleep; he still held the reins between his hands. She woke him up. Aang jolted and shut straight up in the air, he came back down ready to fight. When he finally looked up into the stranger's eyes, he saw those beautiful blue eyes he had fallen in love with, she saw those stormy gray eyes she couldn't help but love. The cried out in joy and jumped into each others arms. Katara was so happy she had tears silently streaming down her cheeks. They two ecstatic lovers shared a deep kiss filled with much love and joy. Suddenly Aang broke the kiss; Katara was confused and upset now. Suddenly Aang kneeled on one knee and spoke so calmly he just simply stated, "Katara will you marry me?"
She almost fainted she was so happy. She couldn't speak so instead she took Aang and kissed him with so much love that both almost drowned in it. Aang took that for a yes. Katara then thought he hasn't given me a necklace yet. Then right on cue katara feels two soft hands gently take off her necklace and replaced with a new necklace.
"Where have you been all this time?" katara asked Aang as soon as he was finished.
"Well… you just wouldn't believe how hard it was to make that necklace. Every time I made one, I thought it wasn't good enough. I finally settled and chose that one to give you, and i had to talk to Gyatso about some stuff."
She couldn't believe it. Aang had just gotten back and now she is engaged. They had to plan the wedding, invite the guest, and tell everyone.
